Not going but way more excited about watching the bowl game than Christmas. My favorite week of the year is between Christmas and New Year's. Football, doing nothing etc.

"Cristes" is from Greek Christos and "mæsse" is from Latin missa (the holy mass).

In Greek, the letter x (chi), is the first letter of Christ, and it, or the similar Roman letter X, has been used as an abbreviation for Christ since the mid-16th century.

Hence, Xmas is sometimes used as an abbreviation for Christmas.

This is one of the most intelligent discourses in response to our tendency to overreact to the use of XMas that I have ever seen.
But since we live not in Greece, nor speak Latin, let us in the United States keep Christ in Christmas.

I like my winter solstice consumer celebrations centered around family to have a hint of religion...

That's what using "Xmas" does. It keeps Christ (abbreviated "X") in Christmas.

If not for the Muslims, Christians would be the most uptight and sensitive people in the world.

Happy holidays!

I know...was wanting to see that, along with the interest of seeing Miles coach against OSU.
