The Sugar Bowl looks even worse. Craigslist and Ebay are flooded with tickets. People are begging for face value and people are laughing at them. This will be a freebie by the day of the game.

and of all the crappy sugar bowl matchups that NOLA has been stuck with since the BCS went to the plus one system .. this is CLEARLY the best one of them ... yes, tiger fans, LSU-Notre Dame was a crappy match up in the grand scheme of things ..

For Florida fans, this might as well be the Independence Bowl. I've read that they didn't even come close to selling out their allotment.

I got a call yesterday from a friend offering tickets. He had a friend who was "just looking for $50 [each]" for terrace level endzone seats claiming that he paid "over $100" for them. I told him, "No thanks. I'll just go the day of the game and get lower level sideline for about $25."

But, these Sugar Bowl "season ticket" holders make a killing when the National Championship game is in N.O. (or they don't have to pay through the arse if LSU is in it). So, this is just payback for being a SB season ticket holder. I wonder how many will stop being season ticket holders after this season.

I have a friend who had been a SB season ticket holder for years until they screwed him in 2007 by not letting him buy his seat for the BCSNC game. They wouldn't explain their refusal, they just told him that he had to purchase the "regular" Sugar Bowl ticket and wouldn't be allowed to purchase the NC game, after he had been a season ticket holder for about 7 years. He dropped it that year. And, he's glad he did.

Now, many of these season ticket holders are seeing that they will have to take big losses every three years (not including the regular Sugar Bowl ticket they must purchase when N.O. has the BCSNC game) in order to get that BCSNC game ticket every fourth year. It's just not worth it any longer.

Further, I think you'll see people shying away from purchasing their tickets through LSU in the future. LSU is all about taking care of the fat cats with respect to both allocation and seating assignments. So, most people will just forego that crap (and their yearly donations) when they can come out MUCH better financially by just buying their tickets after the bowl games are announced. i think you'll see people just checking the BCS NC game box and nothing else. I believe all those years of catering to fat cats will and reducing the lottery for away and bowl games is going to come back to haunt LSU in the future.

Yet is was probably one of the more watched/attended Sugar Bowls in the decade (minus any BCS Championship game played there)
