LSU time of possession in 2009 LSU Florida game

23:30

LSU time of possession in 2007 LSU Florida game
35:52

Bend but don't break gives your offense no time to score.

That is more than enough time to score 10 points.

Next.

I call BS. There is no way we only had 2 three and outs on O that game.

I don't know for sure but that number does not sound right.

In 2009, Florida burned 8:11 off the clock on their first drive.

In 2007 - guess how much LSU burned off the clock in their last drive?

8:11

I'm not kidding.

CLEARLY in the last two LSU-FL games, time of possession is the most important factor.

Both teams were burning clock. I think we only had a half dozen possessions in the game

we had 2 drives during the entire game that went for more than 6 plays.

6 plays 25 yds punt
5 plays 27 yds punt
3 plays 14 yds int
3 plays -12 yds punt
5 plays 4 yds punt(penalty)
4 plays 6 yds turnover on downs

WE HAD 23:30 ON OFFENSE.

That's like playing a 47 minute game.

Florida's first drive was 8:11

WAS THAT OFFENSE's FAULT?

NO

I doubt your summary is correct, because its lacking 3 points.

Are you saying we scored those 3 in less than 6 plays?

It stands to reason then that had we had the extra 6:30 that would have made par possesion time, we could have pulled off two or three sub 6 play scoring drives.

And all they got out of that long arse drive was a field goal.

The only number that mattered was how many they scored. If we had any kind of offense this year we should/could have won that game.

no, but having 23 some odd minutes of offense is the offenses fault. look at the yardage difference. We had the same number of possessions, and didnt have hardly any substantial drives. Our defense held florida to the lowest point total under urban meyer. Our defense was solid that game, yet all our offense could muster was 3 pts

How can people like you look yourself in the mirror each morning and walk like an upright man in the world when you are this dense?

Good job, you've proven Florida won time of possession. A useless statistic. We all know LSU didn't shut down Florida's offense, but they played well enough to win holding them to within one possession for most of the game.

The offensive effort was piss-poor, and it isn't the D's fault. Saying it was because they didn't have enough time is garbage. If you have enough time to get a play off, you have enough time to score.
