Also, take out 2007, and I think Brees has a pretty clear advantage, albeit slight.

This arguement is so flawed. So I guess Trent Dilfer > Dan Marino? Robert Horry > Karl Malone? I'm not arguing Brees over Brady but simply comparing championships can be very deceiving.

whenever the argument is so close, I think you can use that fact as a bit of a tiebreaker.

What amazes me about Brady is that he has been extremely consistent. He's never had a bad year. Always good to great. Pretty amazing.

After what he is doing this year and three years ago, I think it is safe to assume that Brady would be dominating the stats had he not been hurt.

And your stats are wrong, Brady is averaging 23.5 tds a year, despite being out all last year.

ETA: Ok I see you counted Brady's rookie year when he threw the ball a handful of times. Brady is clearly better when you leave out the years he didn't play a significant amount of time.

QB rating takes all of those stats into consideration. Brees is better by 6 points.

Brees > Brady

Brady has had a better career, but Brees is currently better. Seems pretty cut and dry to me

Its not a true QB rating, its a yearly aveage counting Brady's 1st year when he threw a few passes and had a 40 QB rating the same as any other year in his career. He's fricking with the stats to make Brees look better. They are both great QBs, but Brady is clearly better. Someone do a QB rating of their final stats for me.

While Colston is great and Meachem is emerging this year, I really don't think the saints have had a #1 receiver since Brees has been here.

don't kid yourself Colston is the #1 receiver

I think you should remove 2008 from your averages. Seems like Brady averages over 27 TDs and over 3,700 per year when you discount his 1 half of football in your average. Brady has 8 years, Brees 9.

Brees playing better post-Brady knee but Brady better before not including the championships.

Happy with our guy but would equally as thrilled to have the other.

Brees is better. No question.
Brady has been better before. No question.

Exactly, Colston is Brees' top guy, and Brady has fricking Randy Moss, one of the best WRs of all time

The "he has championships" argument is simplistic and dumb, especially in football.

If I were drafting knowing what I know today, I choose Brady in 2000 over Brees no question.

If I were trying to make a trade today I would probably take Brees considering Brady is coming off injury.

Not when it's 3, and when it's used when 2 players are so close otherwise. You want to talk about simplistic and dum?b--"So, Dilfer > Marino?" is pretty much the absolute epitome of that.

Not really, I could care less either way honestly, I think they are both decent quarterbacks, and you could take out any number of years for the both of them, and it'll make one look better than the other. I'm just trying to spark decent debate here.
