Agree, IMO great quarterbacks are made in the playoffs. Playoff stats are huge when comparing QB's. Thats why I give the edge to Brady over Manning so far. Brees just doesnt have the playoff stats to judge just yet. All of that can change of course.

Last 10 years

1. Brady
2. Manning
3. recently Brees

This season

1. Manning
Brees
3. Rivers
4. Brady

Would you put him in your top 3 over the last 10 years? Ahead of who?

Youre right, he is having one great season. Re-thinking this I would put him in a virtual tie with Manning and Brees for this year so far.

I think so far its the best season of his career.

No, but I don't hold the Pat's good defense against Brady either. Sure, luck can go into getting post-season opportunities, but you have to get/give credit for what you do with those opportunities.

but it shouldn't put a QB like Big Ben near the elite status of QB's (like some tried to put him in before the season) when he had a terrible performance and is behind a great defense

Just so everyone knows, TravelingTiger55 is on record as saying that Ben Roethlisberger is greater than Peyton Manning.

ETA: Hot Carl, don't freak out on me, that comparison is more legit than Dilfer/Marino, LOL.

whenever the argument is so close, I think you can use that fact as a bit of a tiebreaker.

This is the correct answer.

Good work BB03, lol.

Rings are a factor, but it's a slight factor and WAY less than most make it out to be.

If we are solely judging this season's on field production, you gotta have Favre and Rodgers ahead of Brady.

Simple enough, and correct. This year, Brees, Manning and Favre are playing lights out. Rivers, although I can't really stand the motherfricker, is having a damned good year. So, too is Rodgers. But QB rating alone doesn't tell the whole story.

This season I'd say it's Brees and Manning in a dead heat as to who's the best. Manning's height gives him an edge if you're
