At Least 234. There are Seven rounds, each team is given a spot in each round from 1-32 depending on their standing at the end of the last football season. The better the record the farther back the pick in each round. Teams may trade draft picks.
Consemporatory picks are [typically] also given to teams who have lost a player through restricted free agency. They may be given for the death of a player but I am not concrete on that.
