What is QB efficiency based on? Just completion %?

How do we account for 90% of JJ's passes being to his relief valve receiver 2-6 yards down the field?

FWIW, I'm a JJ supporter. Just curious how this is accounted for in quarterback efficiency.

Is YPC factored in?

Interestingly, TP is the guy I like to compare JJ to in terms of age, size, style of play and he was supposed to be the next "world-beater",but he ranks 65 to JJ's 38.

If I made a list of people that were better at doing your job...how many pages would it take?...you need to find something else to do...

The passer rating does not include being unable to run the option, and never learning how to do it all season.
Many of those listed do know how to run the option, especially Terrelle Pryor.
just sayin'.

Guys, this argument is just going in stinking circle, and I'm gettin' dizzy.

Bottom line: the offense sucked. Part of the problem was the O-line. Part of the problem was WRs dropping catchable balls. Part of the problem was QB. Part of the problem was RB's seemingly running with their eyes closed.

The one thing they all have in common is Crowton was in charge of every aspect of the offense, and he failed BIG TIME.

Les needs to show Crowton the door. Then, and only then, will we know for sure that Jefferson, Lee, Garrett, Shepard and the rest of the offense is coachable. Under Crowton the last two years, I can't think of more than one or two players who actually showed improvement, and there isn't ONE who I think has come anywhere close to reaching his potential.

Advocatus diaboli:

Oh you mean like the one where he got hurt when Nico Johnson was in his face in one second flat if that(in a game where the O line probably put together there best outing)

Oh this freshman, Nico Johnson who plays LB for Bama? He wasn't even probably going to play if Donta Hightower had not gone down with a season ending injury.

conjecture = presumptive evidence!

As JJ goes, so goes LSU. JJ is our starter until he graduates.

live it.
learn it.
love it.

Roaad, are you Les? Just saying! Plenty of things can happen between now and tomorrow. Is the weather man 100% accurate? Do you believe everything that you read in black and white or any color combination? How about the news? Is all of that crap truly 100% accurate? You don't own this bog, you know! (a quote from an old deceased friend.)

quote:
If JJ were a senior this year
You would have an argument.

It is all just opinions and most of us are arse-holes; it is just a fact that many people's egos won't let them admit this fact to themselves.

quote:
also if jj can't throw the long ball then how the hell did rr catch that perfectly thrown deep ball against ole miss.

most LSU fans who watched the games this year would overwhelmingly conclude that JJ really struggled with the deep ball this year.

I agree with stevo on this point!

PRIDGENTIGER
So did matt flynn suck?

Why are you saying this with so much anger? Who said those words about JJ? Maybe in a moment of anger, but hold it against him personally, NO.

quote: idiot. I've forgot more football than you'll ever know. You came on here spewing bull shite about our qb and got owned. C ya bitch

man alive! (roflmao)

drizztiger
quote:
Having playcalling requiring him to take 7 step drops with 4 WR's running 30 yard routes didn't help his sack total in the least. Your playcalling should assist your personnel. Crowton did the same crap last year with JL calling 5 yard outs when JL locked onto receivers presnap - hence the numbers of INTs. Idiot playcalling towards your players weaknesses instead of strengths.

Excellent point!

Roaad
quote:
Notice a trend anywhere? Like I said before, sometimes you have to blame the carpenter, not the tools. (roflmao)

Only one stat improved at any point that Crowton/Stud have been here. It then quickly corrected itself, and fell in line with the rest of the trend.

Now, these stateemts make sense to me!

PRIDGENTIGER
look gotta go. Jj is better than flynn.

One difference and and JJ can't do these two things (so this is just a couple of kudos for MF) he could hold for FG, EP and he could flip a ball over his shoulder for a kicker to score on a trick play. As good an athlete as JJ is, he can't do that!

quote:
You gotta work with the tools you have.
Some tools are sharper than others, thats the point.

depends on who sharpened those tools TIGERLEE (in all caps?)

drizztiger
quote:
that's when coaches earn their money.

LSU is owed a refund.

(I have to agree with that!)

Question: Is Roaad, JJ's father and is PRIDGENTIGER his momma?

"Gotta be related, huh?"

The last time I watched a game and I'm watching one now and it is a Team game. Thus, the most responsible person first is the Boss of the Boss who is the boss of the bosses on this squad. The squad should all be team players putting one another in the position to win every game. We came close but all parts didn't function properly too often for LSU to play like Bama played the season out.

BTW, why isn't Kirby Smart on the market for a H.C. job somewheres?

QB eff rating is flawed. Brees got a "perfect" rating afew weeks ago and had a few incomplete passes. That ain't perfect. Damn near it, but niot "perfect"

They should find a way to factor in 'sacks when he had ample time to throw it away' into efficiency rating.

JJ's completion percentage would have been around 57% if he had thrown the ball away throughout the year instead of taking some of the sacks which were preventable.
