Is everyone ready to give up on JJ?

It sounds like people are still backing him but still lack the confidence that a starting QB should have from his team and fans. I think CG is going to be a great QB in the future but will he run the same type of offense as JJ?? Just stuff that was on my mind..hope everyone has a great holiday!

What have you seen from Chris Garrett to make you think he will be any better? I mean, dude throws a tight spiral in warm-ups and all but that doesn't translate to a game. Where do you people get this shite from?

Crowton will run the same option regardless of who the qb is. Book It!!!
I've heard great things about CG, but I also heard good things about J. Lee and J. Jefferson and now Zach Lee. That being said, I will back whoever is the quarterback for LSU.

Who's most likely to lead the team to a better performance/record in 2010? Ya basically got three choices:
Jefferson
Lee
Garret
No disrespect to the other two, but I'll take Jefferson.

JJ doesn't have the "it" factor

Come on Yat, he went to the Manning Passing Academy!!

He needs to play better, but I believe he can. I think part of his problem is bad coaching, some of it is that he's handcuffed, whether by his own design or by the coaches design, and a lack of confidence. I think he'll be much better next year, but if we don't have a good O-line it won't matter much.

That would be tough with CG, he is a pocket passer that was evaluated with less than average mobility..If Shep were to start at QB then i would say its a no brainer to run the option, but i think you have to build your offense around your QB..

If he doesn't, what QB on LSU's roster does?

Regardless of JJ or any of the coaches including Coach Miles....This upcoming year will tell us all we need to know about where the PROGRAM is and is heading. JMO

No, I am not ready to give up on JJ. I am, however, ready to give up on Crowton.
He has not shown that he can develop talent. J-Lee got worse as the 2008 season progressed, and he has not shown that he has gotten ANY better in his limited playing time this year.
JJ did not show through the course of this season that he made any significant improvements either. It's possible that both QBs are simply uncoachable, but that's highly unlikely.
The common denominator is Crowton.
I think we saw with Chavis that talent was not our problem on defense in 2008. It was coaching.
I feel the same about the LSU offense in 2009.

You ever stop and think that complete lack of player development has anything to do with it. Crowton has been the qb coach and other than Flynn (who was already developed) everyone who has been qb under him has been well below average. Lee and JJ were both pretty good high school qb's who have gone downhill under Crowton. RS or any other qb will never flourish under Gary Crowton's tutorledge. We now have a passing game coor. for Christ's sake. If that does not tell you that Miles has lost complete confidence I don't know what does.

I agree with the "it" factor and JJ lacking it. I prefer to call it "swagger" which is a result of confidence. What makes the JJ situation interesting is that I don't think he is naturally unconfident (look at the Peach Bowl last year). Play-calling can do alot to help a QB's confidence on the field and helping him develop a rythym. Unfortunately, JJ has not had this sort of help.

JJ and Lee both looked lost and confused under center. Far from the "Swaggar".

I think Jefferson improved as the season progressed.
Unfortunately, playcalling got worse exponentially.
Sometimes you need to blame the carpenter, not the tools.

The fact that we were 108th ranked offense, and last in the SEC. Can it get any worse than last? Dont think so.
