the entire year even if he does not show vast improvements in reading defenses, getting the ball off more quickly, checking off receivers etc.

I get this sinking feeling that he would stick with him no matter what.

what will JJ have to do in order to get pulled??

he has done nothing worthy of getting pulled yet, so why even bring this up?

Sounds like you are rooting against an LSU player.

From what I am hearing, Chris Garrett is going to be giving JJ alot of competition for the QB job next fall. Good! Competition will only make both of them better, but I hear that Garrett is the "real deal"

thread similar to how long will miles stick with JR. Similar complaints to he can't read defenses and he didn't have the "smarts" to be an SEC qb. Miles only mistake was he stuck with the Hatch/Lee plan waaaayyy too long. Crazy how the more the things change the more they stay the same.

Wasn't JL the "real deal" a couple years ago?

We could have Drew fricking Brees as a backup and Miles wouldn't play him because he fails to get the best players onto the field.

Yep, especially after the Auburn game in 08. His deal was very real but we all know what happened next.

i only ask this because he will be a junior next year with an entire year under his belt,,what he did this year did not warrant getting pulled but if he doesn't show vast improvements his junior year, I would imagine it could happen.

Same as Flynn was going to be comp for JR.

Same as supposedly the rumors or hope that Hatch/Lee were better qbs than RP before spring camp even started.

Same as Lee was a better qb than JJ because he had sat on the bench for a year and had learned his lesson.

Now hope that Garrett is gonna come in and be the man.

No true/rs freshman is gonna turn in a stellar season in the SEC. If garrett is a starter over JJ then it will be another 8-4/7-5 year. Nothing against garrett but I'd rather have an experienced mistake free qb vice an unproven, untested qb for the third year in a row. Just sayin.

he doesn't need to show VAST improvement. He should continue to improve and be an even better QB next season. But their could be competition for the starting spot come spring if Chris Garrett really is as good as reports say he is

i mean who the frick is making these reports about Garrett,,if you can't believe our head coach in terms of talent (this is our best o-line i've ever had),,who can you trust??? i won't believe it until i see it,,that is my motto with miles as our coach.

Well, this year his only choice was Lee. Therefore, it's obvious why Jefferson wasn't pulled. It's not as if Marino and Brees were available.

How do you figure that. There was no one else to start the season. JJ would have been crippled physically and emotionally had he played much earlier than he did. Like most freshmen he took a while to grasp enough of the playbook to be useful and the speed of the game was a bit much for him his first couple of times on the field and that was after 3 months of practice. I'll grant you the playcalling should have been toned down for JL and it hurt the rotation to lose Hatch but there was no good to come from playing JJ early in the season.

More likely Garrett would move to #2 on the depth chart. That is only he performed lights out. Maybe then you give him spot time next year, just in case he is needed.

Miles isn't the one saying how good Garrett is, it seems to be the so called inside posters on here or what people on here are saying. Miles never said Garrett is some great QB who is destined for greatness. Maybe they are basing it off of last years spring game

that's what I'm saying. If our own Coach can't judge potential, how can we believe ANYONE associated with our football team? That's why I said i'll believe it when i see it.

in 09, it didn't matter who was the QB

the o-line was a turnstile.
