Who knows who Bo Rein was ?

Talk about karma. Bo was hired as Lsu head coach. Had great credentials. His plane disappeared and all aboard were doa. Never coached a game. It was one of or his first recruiting trip. 1979 , I believe. Many people believe had he would have been tremendous coach and brought glory to LSU football. I think plane was a Cessna 414 and he was flying to Florida. Plane lost pressurization and all aboard lost their lives. Aircraft was found in ocean off coast of South Carolina, I believe. Accident was very similar to crash that killed the golfer Payne Stewart a few year ago. All Tiger fans need to be thankful for the glory that has come to the program and hope and believe that we will beat Tide and Fla. Next year. Miles making moves to improve. Tigers win SEC next year and crush Penn. St. this Jan. 1.

what does that have to do with karma?

I heard he had tons of cash on the plane and was going to give it to recruits.

So, when does the karma part come into play?

I was a in high school and it was a very, very sad day when he and the crew on that flight died. LSU fans were very excited about the new coach and were just getting to meet and know him.

Apparently Bo Rein did something bad in a past life, so he wasn't allowed to coach at LSU.

There really is some sick people on this board. Will talk bad about anyone no matter if they know them or not, that is sad.
The man never did one thing to you so why do you put down on him? That is sorry!

they said he had the look of an eagle, which was kind of ironic when he died in the sky.

This my recollection of the story, but I admit that I am a little fuzzy. I believe that he was hired after McClendon. He was an outstanding two sport athlete,(football and baseball) I believe at Ohio State University. As I remember he was on a recruiting trip to the Shreveport area and flew off of the radar going East out over the Atlantic. I did not think that he or his plane was ever located. Out of resect for him, LSU paid for his children's education. He never coached a game at LSU.

they found out he was leaving to go coach at the miami dolphins and then quit and go coach for bama

I can remember not being certain if it was the hire we needed.
He was a Woody Hayes disciple...3 yards and a cloud of dust and made no bones about it.
Now that wasn't unusual in that day and age but having been that under Mac I was looking for a different approach.
I've always wondered how differently things would have played out if Rein had not met his untimely death.
One note on his story is that I understand out of respect LSU paid for his children's education, or so I read somewhere.

I was trying to ridicule the sorry piece-of-shite excuses for human beings who like to improperly use the concept of "karma" to explain when bad things happen to people. I'm sorry if it came off the wrong way. Obviously, I have no gripe with Bo Rein.

Apparently Jesus did something bad as He was never allowed to rule over Jerusalem during his lifetime on earth. Only on td would you find people who will trash even our dead coaches.

Bo Rein was a great man and a tremendous football coach I lived in Raleigh when he "brought the pack back". He was perfect for LSU. It was and is a sad day when that plane went down..... changed LSU football history forever.

By the way, I think that he was only around 35 or so.

That right, he coached with Holtz at NC State and I think maybe in the pros too.

My point was that LSU had hired what was , by all accounts a coach that was going to be very good. Miles has been good and great at times. Who did not relish the W vs. Ohio St. ? All Tiger believers should give Les benefit of doubt that he will correct problems, hire some great coaches and win recruiting battles that he needs to win and bring future glory. Look at the record books. National titles are few , even among the powers. Take Michigan or even Ohio St. Many others. I am a private pilot and had read about that crash many years ago. Maybe Coach Rein is looking over LSU and rooting for W's he never got a chance at.

Actually, his offense was the veer. After his death, they replaced him with Jerry Stovall, who stuck with the veer till little ole backs from LA came along, The Dalton - James Gang.

Hang on, I'm doing a little research right now on the cost of chartering a plane for Miles.
