And what's the common denominator in those two years? Rookie, freshman QB's. How many teams have flourished with rookie QB's? Go ask how USC or OU how easy it is.
Having a rookie freshman QB for one year is a sign of bad recruiting. Having them in back-to-back years (which we didn't, since Jefferson is a sophomore--see below) is a sign of bad recruiting and even worse player development.
And again, for the umpteenth time, Jordan Jefferson has more career starts right now than either Matt Mauck or Matt Flynn had going into 2003 or 2007, and three times as many as Jamarcus Russell had going into 2005. After the bowl game, he will have two less career starts than Russell had going into 2006. He had more career starts coming into this year than Alabama's McElroy did, and more than Matt Leinart had going into 2003 for USC. He has more career starts right now than Tom Hodson had AFTER he had already led us to an SEC championship in 1986 as a redshirt freshman coming off of elbow surgery. The youth excuse, by definition, has to wear out eventually, if it is ever even valid in the first place.

Flawed logic, but of course, you think starting true frosh is a good thing. You can see JJ competes quite well with your legends of the past in early stages of their development. Most of the legends early playing time came in mop up over inferior defences, not in a pressure cooker like JJ's.

As for your comment on bad recruiting- we had top pick in RP. I guess that was Miles fault also.
Again I say GTFO and root for somebody else if you think LSU sucks.
