Yeah, I caught the record mistake already, thanks for pointing that out.
If we run away with the Penn State game, I will say that this year is better. We made improvements over last year. Sure, we didn't improve as much as most of the rantards think we should have, but we still improved. And as for the last second loss in the bowl game, why were we even in the situation to lose it? We should have beat that team by double digits.

people care way too much about bowl games, imo. If you're disappointed with the way the team plays for 12 weeks, how does one performance against a team from a conference that we ALL say is overrated make up for that?

Iowa had won over 30 games 2002-2004. At the time Ferentz was one of the hottest names in coaching.
This isn't about defending Saban. If he had handled the situation better, we probably would have beaten Iowa. The point is 2004 was not a terrible season and LSU was at the time in a very good position relative to the rest of the SEC and certainly the West.

That game was no indication of where the program was. We played that game without our coach giving a shite, our players having much bigger things on their minds than the game (namely who their next coach would be) and with our best QB suspended for the first three quarters. And we still won the damned thing if not for the blindness of the officials on Iowa's hail mary.
