What I don't understand is everyone wants to say we "almost" lost to this team or that team, yet Bama and UF "almost" lost to a few teams as well and they are praised for being able to make the comeback or pullout the win. Why the double standard on this?

Lsu had a lot of those close games where people didn't know who was gonna win. An easy case of Almost losing is the Mississippi state game where lsu had an amazing goalline stand to win the game. Lsu had to have an amazing run by charles scott in the final minute of the game to take the lead.

We almost lost to Ole Miss in 2003, but we put up 50 on Arky the next week and were dominant in many games throughout the year.
Bama struggled a couple of times this year, but they looked like a championship team many times too.
We looked like crud all year long. We almost lost to MSU despite having a defensive and a special teams TD and the game didn't seem like a fluke, especially in retrospect. It looked like LSU being LSU.
