I recently bought a PS3 and am looking for some advice on where to start with the games. I haven't played a video game in years. I think the last one that I actively played was probably Final Fantasy X on the PS2. I've been looking at Dragon Age Origins and Assassin's Creed 2. Any advice? TIA

Ugh. God no. FPS for consoles suck.

Go with an action game, like Brutal Legend or inFamous, or a sports game like Madden.

those are two good ones--if you like dragon age origins look for white knight chronicles this february. besides that, check out uncharted 2 for a great adventure/puzzle type game in the spirit of tomb raider; valkyria chronicles for an awesome strategy/rpg; little big planet and rachet and clank: a crack in time for innovative platformers; and metal gear solid 4 for what IMHO at least, is still the best game for the ps3. if you're into first-person shooters, the resistance series and killzone 2 are nice alternatives to the call of duty series.

Quality games...Infamous and AC2 are some of the best games released recently.

inFamous was a good play. Beat it both ways. It was good for a couple of weeks. Glad I borrowed it from a friend, though. GTAIV is also out there if you like the GTA series.

Infamous looks really good, but I'm not sure on the replay value. I have $45 in reward zone certs from Best Buy, so I think I'm going to buy Dragon Age: Origins and then sign up for GameFly to play stuff like Infamous and AC2. Thanks for the advice

Uncharted 2 - it's a PS3 exclusive and it's a blast.

both of those would be good if you love rpg. MW2 you should get. You could prob find other great games for cheap. Depends on what you like. Uncharted 2 would be a good place to start also.

Im pretty sure you can find dead space for $20. depends if you want to spend 60 on a new game or not.

You could prob grab two games with that if you were planning on spending 60 anyway you could prob get three. You should have gone on black friday, majority of the games were on sale.

shite just checked again and dragon age is 49.99. i might have to go pick that up as well.

Ok just checked best buy... Dead Space is a must have is only 14.99 and Bioshock is 19.99. If i was you i would get dragon age since you are set on that and grab one of these to play if you get tired of playing dragon age or need a change.

UFC Undisputed was a fun game for PS3. I kicked Honkus' arse a couple times.

This is probably exactly what I'll do. Dead space looks pretty sweet.
