yeah, we know charles scott would never be able to get those stats if given the same opportunities. just see the uk game they lost that year when scott was benched after having a great game. GFY homer
Charles Scott would never have been able to get those stats given the same opportunities because he was not (AND STILL ISN'T I MIGHT ADD) the same caliber of running back as Hester. You're really going to talk up Scott after one silly game when Hester proved his worth his whole career at LSU? I didn't think you'd reply, but at least you tried.

He's terrible in the NFL. He's fat, lazy, and doesn't seem to give a shite. He was good at LSU though. I don't understand the personal attacks and people who act like he was terrible in college. Like Enrique said, some of the people on here act like he fricked their GF

I like how on one hand you revel in the fact that Flynn played less games in 2007, then post stats to show the difference between JR and MF.
Did you completely ignore the fact that Flynn had a MUCH worse QB rating, completion percentage and MORE INTs?

That happens when you don't have Dwayne Bowe, Craig Davis, and half of Early Doucet on your team as well as playing on an injured ankle the first half of the season, etc.

FLYNN GOT THE HARDWARE. JAWALRUS IS NOTHING BUT A LAZY AFRICAN.
JaMarcus' descent to a trailer in Mobile will be fun to watch. Unfortunately for him, NFL contracts aren't guaranteed like the NBA. The stupidity necessary to blow throw the money he's made is unfathomable, too.

A shitty simplistic cop out of an argument.
So tell me, was Tee Martin than Payton Manning?
Was Josh Heupel better than Jason White?
Was Craig Krenzel better than Troy Smith?

I'm an LSU fan, I don't give a shite about any of those people.

Good excuses. Flynn had a thousand yard rusher who was the focal point of the offense.

TBH, I think Jamarcus finds his way to the OL before it's all said and done.
I bet he'd have good feet for a LT.

Of course you don't. You know the answers to the questions and have no argument.

How can you pick someone who didn't win an NC over someone who did, this is blowing my mind.

Oh so now you're comparing JR to Dan Marino
Posted on 12/7/09 at 1:26 am to LSUboi242
Since you have no argument, why do you really dislike Russell? Was it the BAMABOY CHAIN???
Posted on 12/7/09 at 1:36 am to mattz1122

That's poor logic. You simply don't like JR.
Russell in 2006 - 2 losses in 13 starts
167 rating, 3129 yards, 68 completion percentage, 28 TD, 8 picks
Flynn in 2007 - 2 losses in 11 starts
125 rating, 2407 yards, 56 completion percentage, 21 TDs, 11 picks
You're seriously going to go on passing yards, completion percentage, touchdowns, and interceptions to rate one quarterback's worth over another? And you say my logic is "poor"?
You are forgetting the single most important stat in which most all logical people evaluate quarterbacks by.
No, not championships. I know that's what you were expecting me to say. While that does show Flynn's superiority in this case, I was referring to something else...MOXIE.
Now, if you're sitting here saying to yourself, "I'm not sure I even know that word even means." don't feel bad --- you're not alone, my friend. Many across the globe aren't accustomed to this word. I took the pleasure of retrieving the definition to enlighten you all.
moxie Show Spelled Pronunciation [mok-see] Show IPA
Use Moxie in a Sentence
See web results for Moxie
See images of Moxie
–noun Slang. 1. vigor; verve; pep.
2. courage and aggressiveness; nerve.
3. skill; know-how.
Now you're probably saying to yourself, "Wow, this guy is a total idiot. He's not making any sense at all!" Well that's quite alright, I never expected many of you to understand this, anyhow.
But to those of you who are starting to understand the infallibility of Moxie and how it is ABSOLUTELY VITAL to an elite quarterback --- continue reading, and become educated.
As I often do whilst viewing Tiger football games, I jotted down the strengths and weaknesses of JaMarcus Russell throughout his career at LSU. I did the same for Matt Flynn. Since I'm quite sure you are all interested as to exactly what I wrote about each quarterback, I will share my journal entries with each and every one of you.
I decided not to bore you with my ramblings about each strength and weakness and my reasoning for choosing them to save time. Instead, I will make an list of strengths and weaknesses for each quarterback accordingly.

Well there you have it - a completely objective evaluation of two former LSU quarterbacks. You probably noticed something stood out in each list, and if you didn't...you probably lack it. What's it you ask?
You didn't guess it...MOXIE. It was at the top of Flynn's strengths and at the top of Russell's weaknesses. Actually...I wouldn't say it was a weakness of Russell, as much as I would say a nonexistent characteristic of his.
Now at this point, if you're still reading, you've probably joined me in my infallible logic and realize that Matt Flynn just simply has moxie. After all, it IS his middle name.
If you are still reading, and DON'T BELIEVE ME, then I will have to resort to the inarguable evidence.
This is a quote from Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy himself. McCarthy: ''He plays the game with an edge. He's aggressive. Some people refer to it as moxie. I like the way he makes plays with his feet. He can get you out of a bad play. Instinctive, very calm; his disposition is excellent. I think he's a young quarterback that has a very bright future.''
Need I say more. Or are you going to refute the facts from a head coach in the NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE. I know some of you are egotistical maniacs, but come on. COME ON!
I know I can't satisfy everyone --- even with the facts. Still, some of you nega-flynners are probably saying things like, "Wow, he has a quote from ONE person who says he filled with the power that is moxie."
Well I came prepared.
A quote from the starting quarterback of the Packers, Aaron Rodgers.
Rodgers: ''Both Matt and Brian did a great job mentally. Matt just showed that moxie, that ability once he got into a game to make plays. Knowing how it goes sometimes with those second(-string) guys - the protection is not always perfect, the mental mistakes are going to be more because you're playing with guys that haven't had a lot of experience in games - I was really impressed with the way he handled everything.''
NOW I FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE MIKE MCCARTHY AND AARON RODGERS BOTH HAD A SECRET MEETING BEFORE THE GAME AND MCCARTHY TOLD HIM, "YOU BETTER TALK ABOUT MATT FLYNN AND HIS MOXIE IN THE POST-GAME INTERVIEW OR YOU'RE OUT OF HERE"
No, I think it only means one thing. Here's one more quote.
'My dad's been dead almost 14 years now, but his nickname for Matt was 'Ironhead.' He always used to say, 'Don't tell him he can't do something.' ''Because if you do, Matt Flynn is going to show you his moxie and do it.''I don't think I've ever once listened to what people say around me - what the media says, what fans say - good or bad,'' Flynn said.
As a closing to this post, I will leave you all with a YouTube clip some of you true tiger fans are familiar with. If you watch this, and still feel that Jamarcus Russell was/will be a better quarterback than Matt "Moxie" Flynn, then I truly feel sorry for you.

I rest my case, tiger nation.

Awesome. And expected.
There are so many things wrong with this post, I don't know where to start. People whose only argument revolves around cliched adjectives/nouns (like moxie) usually have no argument at all and little knowledge of football altogether.
And aside from the racial stereotypes, many of the strengths that you listed for Flynn were actually his weaknesses. Like checking off receivers. Russell was also more of a pocket passer than Flynn, and he rarely ran. He also was pretty quick for his size. ETC
I mean Jesus Christ, do you have any idea what you're talking about?
