Could you imagine a bad hiring for LSU when satan left? Luckily we hired miles who won a NC and undefeated for bowl games. Imagine if our program sucked like the u or florida state or ND and the list just goes on

despite the typical ranter assumption, coaches weren't falling over themselves to come to LSU when Saban left.

Miles has gotten beat up mainly cause he is not $abun but its hard for me to believe that $abun would have done any better record wise. However its obvious $abun is a hands on technique HC and Miles is a manager.

you don't think any coach wouldn't have won the title in 06 or 07 with the talent we had?

That MAY be true.

& despite the Miles apologists emotions, very few quality programs would trade head coaches at this moment.

we could have had Petrino, Nutt, or Del Rio at that time. To name a few.

not a good mgr, that's the problem
He'd be better in a Bobby Bowden type of figurehead role....selling recruits during in home visits.

the painful truth of this makes me want to crack open another beer. It's going to be a long offseason.

Saban waited so late to annouce he was leaving, many possible coaches had already signed contracts. A few examples are Urban Meyers and Steve Spurier.

Petrino is a clown and wd've bolted to NFL and would prolly be right where he is right now. Nutt- so fricking what. Del Rio was never coming to LSU.

Miles has been beaten up because he has no attention to detail, his team has a difficult time executing fundamentals, play to the level of their opponent, never look well prepared, and are difficult to watch & appreciate. Aside from special teams what would you say that LSU is very good at?

Oh course not. It was all Miles.

Saw the most elementary difference that coaching can make this morning with my 8 yr old son's basketball fundamental class.

The head coach has not shown up for over a month. In his absense, we had some laid back substitutes. It was a waste of time and the kids did not learn much.

Today the real coach shows up about half way through the drills. All of a sudden, the court becomes animated, there is hands on technique training and the kids are moving around big time, learning and paying attention.

If anything, we lost intensity since Saban left. The Laid back BS works in the Pros where the players get paid more than the head coach. It does not work as well long term in College.
MIles is a laid back players coach. As a result, intensity may be a little less consistent. That is what we see on the field. No domination just doing what is enough to stay in the game.

It started big time last year. We were fortunate to win 9 games this year. It gets tougher, not easier, next year.
