these were the starters
Sheppard
Baker
Jones
(backups Minter, Mingo, Francois

that would be one fast and athletic LB core.

The secondary
FS
Loston

SS
Brooks/Hatcher

LCB
Peterson

RCB
Eugine/Claiborne

That would be one beast of a backfield.

Defense will be young next year but it will be full of potential stars in the making. Plus, if Chad Jones comes back it will have alot of leadership.
Next years defense can be really good (hope our scheme is as aggressive as the talent allows and this defense could be special)

I like how Brandon Taylor went from a starter to not even in the two-deep.

I agree on the DB's and LB's! Should be solid there next year imho.

Defensive line we lose Drake Nevis and that isn't a good thing but we have some quality lineman that will I believe improve the line in every spot outside of Drake! In some cases it will just be the same guy that played this year being bigger, stronger and more experienced. I say we improve on the DB'S, DL, and are pretty similar on LB's assuming Sheppard returns. If he doesn't we might be ok if only one of the Redshirts steps up and I expect possibly 3 of them will be pretty good.

I thought Drake was a junior, is he coming out this year? Not sure I'm sold on Francois though. If he added a few pounds I'd expect Prater to be in the 2 deep. He's very fast and fits that Chavis mold like Baker does, imho of course.

Corps! Corps! Corps! Ahhhh

Sorry I just see that all the time around here and it seems to be getting worse. I hate being grammar police but it's been driving me nuts. Do people serve in the marine core?

corps [kawr, kohr]
–noun, plural corps [kawrz, kohrz] .

2. a group of persons associated or acting together: the diplomatic corps; the press corps.

I think this will be the starting D as of right now:

DE Pep
DL Drake
DL Downs
DE Lavar

LB Baker
LB Sheppard
LB Jones

CB PP
CB Claiborne
SS Taylor
FS Loston

ETA: I think Brockers will eventually start over Pep.
