Thanks everyone... this crap has been on my mind since the Florida game. Nothing kills me more than to log on during/after a game and see some of the posts that litter this board. They're just so unbelievably unrealistic.

Someone above said they want LSU to be great, and they self admitted greed. I think we ALL want that. I'd give up unspeakable things to see 13-0 and #1 every year, but it ain't gonna happen. Patience will pay off. As they say, Rome wasn't built in a day. Neither was Gator football. Spurrier laid that ground work in the early 90's. Zook maintained it with some solid building, and Urban Meyer has laid some sick work to get UF to what it is today. Whether or not Miles is our Zook (ie short term, not the right guy) or if he continues to push us to that next level will only be told with time. Right now he's getting us too much talent to fire him. And he's not just getting the talent, but he's keeping us competitive. We win ALL the games we're supposed to. We're in the game, every game. Other than the UF and UGA games last year, we haven't been blown out once (OK, maybe the SEC title game in 05). At this point, that's realistic and what we need. We're not regressing at all. We have challenges and we adjust. I'll take that right now.

Now next year, I do expect a much more positive result on the field. Alabama will not be as good. UF will have a major adjustment year post-tebow (and I for one think Meyer is gone after this year with no Tebow and that ND gig opening again). Plus we'll have 3rd year JJ, a second year Sheppard, and a better line on both sides of the ball. Chavis in his second year will have a Defense that will be feared (like we're used to having). I think it goes without saying this hinges on a major upgrade at OC. Gary did us well, but it's time to move on. I fully expect SEC West title, SEC championship appearance, and BCS game.

Damn good post, sonnyboy. None of the stupid, uninformed jabbering that regularly stinks up these boards like week old road kill.
