look saban has nothing to do with what bama used to do or their traditions from any time period before 2007
secondly, croom was a horrible coach
lastly, the bear was ahead of the times in terms of using black players in the SEC (thanks to USC)

It came to 2 candidates: lilly white Mike Shula or Sylvester Croom. Why did they hire Shula??
