JR

yeah horrible QB recruits
Yet in year 5 he had no capable back up. Both he and Miles benefitted from their predecessors QBs in the first couple years.

"major experience"
?
he started as many games in 2007 as JJ did last year

and that our line attrition really hurt us this year.
it has only affected 1 of 5 positions
we returned THREE starters on the OL this year

this is due to our coach's recruiting years ago

No I'm talking about this year. Alhough JR's arm and a frickton of talent at WR bailed him out a lot in the past.
Regardless, I think we do have a lot of talent at the skill positions. Enough talent to hang wit the #1 and the #2 teams in the country.
That's the said part of this. We could have beaten both Fla and Ark on those days -- Fla was not playing at its full capcity that game -- but I think playcalling, stupid penalties and bad personnel management cost us those games.
That's the point of all this. The coaching costs us games.
Coming into the season, 10-2 sounded really good, 9-3 a little less so. But watching the team still find a way to win on talent and determination after they (players and coaches) kept shooting themselves in the foot was beyond frustrating, it was heartbreaking.

miles classes in 2005, 2006, and maybe even 2007 have been busts
Really?? I'll be watching the NFL draft this year. The first real year that Miles players are eligable. (Bersides RJF & BYRD) We'll see if Lafell, Alem, Black, Riley, Dickson & Scott etc. are "Busts".

nice focus on one position
OK. Name the Cornerback that Saban signed who is more talented than Patrick Peterson. That should be easy enough for you as Saban's highest CB pick was a 2nd rounder. Gee, I wonder who you'll pick.

It's like you think a BSC bid should be automatic.
if you're an elite program it should be a given
you think USC fans are happy this year? you think they consider this season a success?

So this is also Saban's fault as well. Noted.

Show me a HS QB that wants to come in and play behind Russell, Flynn, and Perrilloux.

You think they are saying fire Carrol? You can shut up now.

But surely Saban had recruited someone in 2004 to be his senior QB for '08? Whoops, guess not.

2 points for accuracy, but I am talking about 2004, which was Saban's 5th year.

well black signed with saban
let's see if alem lives up to his recruiting ranking
do you think it will be similar to the 2007 draft when FOUR saban recruits went in the 1st round?

whoa so it comes down to judge miles' recruiting for 5 years and it's on ONE PLAYER?
after Saban recruited the #1 overall pick in the draft?

they had 1 down year
we're on our 2nd down year, and 3rd in miles' 5 years
carroll has been to a BCS bowl since 2002
