the game is great. all the missions are fun and not repetitive at all. i played the first one, beat the first 6 levels, and just quit because it was the same thing over and over.
what's also great is this game will take a long time to beat if you do side missions. The first "level" (before you actually become the assassin) took me like 2 hours.
the game is so much deeper than the original and it has made me forget all about MW2.
My games of the year:
1. Uncharted 2
2. Assassin's Creed 2
3. Modern Warfare 2

I guess I'll be one of the minority who isn't that all impressed with MW 2. I bought it and played the campaign. Graphics are awesome but the game is very short. Also, I'm not a big online gamer. I rarely play online and when I do I get smoked by people who play for hours. I bought the special edition of the game because I wanted to play it so bad and that was all best buy had in stock the day I went. Doubt I'll be picking it up again any time soon.

This is the type of gamer I am. I don't mind playing online co-op, but I hate playing competitive because the hardcore gamers destroy me.

It has a couple of weak points:
1. The ability to gain steady income from the villa makes assassination contracts, beat ups, courier assignments, and races obsolete. This may actually be a good thing, but I kept waiting to not be able to afford things without some work and that time never came. Even Altair's Sword was no major setback.
2. It's entirely too easy to lower your notoriety. It may take less than a minute to reduce it all the way by bribing heralds and pulling down posters, especially since both are so ubiquitous.
With that said, both are minor complaints. And at least they aren't frustrating features. The only frustration I've faced in the game is trying to run and jump fluidly through time trial areas while the camera is constantly switching angles and forces you to adapt the joystick for a new perspective on the fly. Really, though, no area should take more than about three tries. This game is really not difficult in any fashion, especially with all of the automatic assistance you receive in the platforming aspect.
I just thought I'd mention those setbacks so that it doesn't seem like I'm being impulsive and hyperbolic when I say that this is one of the top three games of the past two years. The environments are, in a word, stunning. As a huge European History nerd, the prospect of exploring the epicenter of the renaissance never loses its luster for me. The minimalistic ambient music is subtle, impressive, and fitting for each area, just as in the first game. I'm not going to say much more. You've all played it.

I noticed this too. I enjoy playing world at war online, but I'm always last place after the match is over. Same with Halo 3, I suck at Halo 3. I just don't play them enough to keep up with the folks who spend their entire lives playing it. I prefer games like Mass Effect and Fallout 3. Where you have a ton of shite to do and takes you months to get through it.

Problem one - you bought it for a reason other than multiplayer. If you're not into the online part, MW2 is a waste of your money.
And MW2 is no different than any game, if you're decent at gaming and put in some work - you'll be good. I'm by no means a hardcore gamer but I can easily hold my own in any match I enter. I think some people use the "not enough time to play" excuse when it's really just a matter of sucking at FPS games

I'm not terrible at online FPSes, but that entire genre became stale to me as far back as 2007. The last one I remember genuinely enjoying was Halo 2.

wow you must be new to xbox. I broke one years ago . quickly realized that it is an expensive habit

I have a PS3. And yes I have broken a controller before. It's a $50 mistake. Luckily my remote didn't break. And yes the second I threw it, I was like "noooooo!"
