Ok….I will ask this question and if someone can provide me the film or documentation that supports a true answer to my question, I will leave Coach Miles bandwagon. I will not call for his termination, not give any money to pay for the cost of his termination. But, I will no longer provide him support on the rant.

Through the history of football, there have been many Hail Mary passes or Big Ben passes or Berlin #___ passes. The first I ever recall was the Falcons against the Saints. With all these plays called, can one person provide me proof through video or written documentation that the coach of the team throwing the Hail Mary, Big Ben, Berlin #___ had his FG team ready to run onto the field to try a last second or last few second FG?

I want someone to prove me wrong in my argument that there is no video or written documentation that a coach EVER prepared to run his FG team on the field if the Hail Mary pass did not reach the end zone.

I am not talking about running the ball on 1st and 10 at the 31, but I do have an argument for that if someone wants to hear it. I am not talking about the lapse of time before a timeout was called at 9 seconds. I am not talking about Coach Miles calling for a spike or pointing out to the official that the received was down. (Personally, I am still shocked he caught the ball).

I am asking someone to prove to me that another coach in the same situation had his FG team ready to go out on the field.

You just pointed out a shitload of coaching mistakes made...all in the final minute of a 2 point game.

Having the FG unit ready to go would have been very tough to pull off..yes. But with the correct coaching decisions, there would have been plenty of time to either a) call a time out to set up a fg.. or b) spike the ball with plenty of time to spare and kick a FG to win.

so, you are telling me that there has never been a coach with common sense enough to have his FG team ready to run onto the field?

They didn't use them. As the commentator said at the end. The clock goes to zero as the center snaps the ball.

There is your proof..

I am not trying to get anybody off the Miles bandwagon. I am one to defend coaches for as far as possible. I called people stupid for wanting him gone after the UF, Bama, and some of our close wins. There is no excuse for one boneheaded move after another this Saturday though. He had MANY MANY chances to make up for one mistake in the final minute...yet he failed miserably every time.

The Auburn game where D. Byrd made that catch in the endzone was also a horrible coaching decision by Miles. We pulled him out with a great play and not many people talked about how stupid he was, but we won..so it's forgotten. After the game I was just as excited as everyone but I kept saying, "Miles got lucky."

We also had timeouts on our last drive. Timeouts that were not correctly used.

in the interview after the game Tiller the purdue coach said they practiced running the team on the field and tells his deep snapper to snap the ball as soon as the official spotting the ball moves away. if you look close enough there wasn't an official down by the goal post to rule it good..... there is your proof

Was Les prepared for any contingency besides TD or loss?

That's amazingly short sighted.

What about a PI on the defense?
