How big of a hit does our recruiting take?

big, big trouble. We will lose Justing Macklin this year, and McCarthy will probably be job searching next year also.

Nice way to get that post count up.... Way to be a douche. If you don't want to discus it then don't comment on it.

depends on who we get to replace him... we have to get a strong recruiter to make up for it... if not, it's huge in terms of recruiting impact.... the guy is money in terms of getting recruits...

I don't think its a question of "if" at this point.

I agree, he's as good as gone, I really hope Miles doesn't promote within and hires someone with someone who has been at a big program with some names he can throw at the big time RB recruits.

i think miles has learned his "hiring from within" lesson already.... not willing to put his $4 million salary at risk.... he knows he has to get the best coaches to coach the best talent to win the most games...

this is reason i think crowton will be replaced, regardless of how much people say it won't happen... one more piss poor offensive season, and miles' seat will be blistering, and if he's fired, he ain't making $4 million anymore... i fully expect him to handle every hire like he did with the DC last season... go get the best you can and fix whatever problem there is before it grows out of control

Porter is by no means a lock for the UM HC position. There will be at least a week or so of more interviews to conduct with more of their targets, including Bud Foster.

According to the Memphis Commercial Appeal Porter is the leading candidate: LINK

Like I said, they're not done interviewing. Memphis has been very active in this coaching search and Fred Smith has money, but they will need to shell out bucks for the coordinators and assistants to make it a truly decent and attractive job.
