we lost to the #1 and #2 team in the nation and hung with both. showed we could play and had a chance to win. We lost 5 games last year. weve only lost 2 this year and people are still complaining

When teams when championships it sets a standard. LSU lost to Florida and Bama, however they were in position to win both of those games.

And we'll lose one more this year. 2 game improvement, and a very shitty offense. I think that's what people are complaining about.

We are worried about the future of the offense!

LSU is 100 something in offense... LSU, a national power!

We are worried(thus complaining) because the next 2 games can easily be losses if we don't play ball....

so 8-4 vs 8-5 doesn't look like improvement does it?

The Ole Miss game is huge!

We are complaining because our play makers aren't making plays, mainly due to play calling...

The team just doesn't inspire confidence..

Gary Crowton ticks me off!

I am going to admit I am a bit spoiled by the success of the program. People expect blowout wins vs inferior competition and expect to win vs elite teams. Last two years it just hasn't happened. I remember the days when a win was a win, but LSU football has unfortunately, or fortunately (depends on how you want to look at it) has passed that point in many fans eyes.

LSU really hasn;t had a quality win in two years, except for Gt last year if you want to stretch a bit, which led to some unreal expectations.

If you just look at the record, yay. If you look at the false starts, offsides, personal fouls, and lack of a power run game, yikes...

A coach hating culture has been allowed to develop on the RANT and exceeds all other websites for teams with a five year won/loss record as good as LSU's.

When Brady left, the Negatigers looked around and started hating on our new baseball coach by his second season even with the #1 recruiting class his first season.

Maineri shutup their stupid mouths with a 20+ winning finish and a CWS appearance in his second season.

The RANT's NegaTiger nation is so clueless and hateful, it boggles the mind.

I'm beginning to think that the people complaining weren't Tiger fans in the 90's; no one's memory is that short. Those were rough times.

I can't believe that the Tigers and Saints are having collectively the best year for their sports and all we do is bitch about how it could be better. Yeah, and it could be quite a bit worse.

I know that none will care, but I think that I have to stop visiting this site. And I know - GTFO, STFO, and an array of other inane comments will follow, but that will merely confirm my point and decision. I want to celebrate the teams and discuss them - not bitch. The best threads on this are about the history after all - the Cantrell and Robichaux threads. Those were the days!

Geaux Tigers, Geaux Saints.

I think a lot of Bamers are posing as NegaTigers to hurt our recruiting program as much as possible.

I'm tired of the attitude that people who complain weren't fans in the 90s. That's such bullshite. I was a HUGE fan in the 90s. I was a little young so I didn't really start to comprehend the game of football until the DiNardo years but I still remember the feeling I got in Tiger Stadium when we beat Florida in 1997. Thought I was dreaming. I certainly didn't just come on board in 2003.

The problem is the terrible offensive play calling that doesn't seem to be getting any better even though we are 10 games into the season. And it's just a continuation from last year, although, you have to give them more slack for last year's performance, losing your starting QB is devastating to a team, as Oklahoma is demonstrating this year. But I know what you mean, there are some people that say stuff on here that's just completely unintelligible and tend to over-react at the wrong things.

I'm in this same boat. I actually do remember the Hallman years however, and they were ugly. I remember DiNardo's "Bring Back the Magic." I remember "Faulk 'Em Up." I really liked where DiNardo had the program going until some of his boneheaded decision in '98 and '99 that quickly led the program back to the same place he had found it. Thankfully Nick Saban was able to bring LSU to greatness and instill a winning attitude in the players and fan base. I'm also thankful Miles was able to continue the trend that Nick had started, but I feel like he's letting things slip. This is really starting to have a Larry Coker feeling to it although it took Coker six years to start slipping.

I feel like Miles needs to tell Crowton to take a hike, and hopefully he can replace him with someone who is competent.

Its not losing to #1 and # 2/3; its playing at a level very often where your are barely getting by teams that have no business competing with you.

Bad cat,

Can u pls stop with the whole "criticism of the coaches on tiger rant is hurting recruiting" schtick? Because its an inane, asinine, absurd, brain-damaged notion. Do you have some sort of mental issue? Ok, then. Lay off of that please. Come up with a different defense of the coaches if you want to battle the nega-tigers, but stop saying this stupid shite.if the coaching sucks, people need to know. If the coaching doesnt suck, tell the negatigers why it doesnt suck. But quit saying that the recruits don't deserve to hear the debate or know the truth, and quit saying that tiger rant somehow meanigfully influences their thoughts (even if it did, see "truth," supra).

There is no winning with these people. If we go 11-2 with a bowl game win, they will say we were lucky and should have gone 8-5 with losses to Miss St and La Tech. Last year they complain that our defense is piss poor. They ignore the leaps and bounds of improvement on defense and assume we cannot improve the offense now. There has been nothing to really suggest we are on a decline. If anything we had a bad season after a NC hangover and are now on the swing up. Florida had a similar season in 2007 with a CapitalOne loss to Michigan, but we are terrible and doomed despite the great recruiting classes that will be coming to maturity in the coming years and the possibility that we can be a top 5 team for the 3rd time in 4 years.
You can't please these knuckleheads.

Florida wasn't getting blown out by other teams in 2007 either. They were competitive in every loss they had. Our defense is improved, but it still really isn't that great. They have trouble making critical stops and stay on the field for the entire game.
