First....I only post this hear because you guys have some smart football posters that understand the game...and I enjoyed the discussion on here leading up the Peach Bowl.
You should know that a lot has been said about LSU from our players and coaches beginning the day after the Peach Bowl last year....our players realized December 31 that they were not as good as they thought.
Immediately following our 49-10 win over Duke this weekend which brought us to 10-1 and a spot in the ACCCG....A-back Roddy Jones was the first interviewed. The questions and his answers.....

What is it like being ACC Coastal Division champions?
"It is great and exciting. Everyone in there is excited right now. It is the culmination of a lot of hard work. We have been working hard ever since the last season ended and in the spring. After the LSU game, we have been working hard and this has been our goal and we put ourselves in a position to get our ultimate goal of winning the ACC Championship."

How much of a motivator was the LSU game and knowing what will happen if you don't come out ready to play?
"Definitely, they really showed us what we need to do to get to the level they are at. Their defense was a national championship defense, I do not care what anybody says. They really showed us how much harder we needed to work in the offseason and what we needed to do to get there. I think we have done a pretty good job of doing it, but we still need to get better and keep going so we can win the ACC."

Below are our stats from 2008 to 2009:

"Category": 2008 to 2009

Pts Scored: 24.4 to 36.0
Total Offense: 372.5 to 449.6
Yards per play: 6.0 to 6.5
Rushing offense: 273.2 to 314.1
Passing offense: 99.2 to 135.5
Passing yards per attempt: 7.8 to 11.6
Pass efficiency: 112.0 to 162.5
Time of possession: 30:30 to 34:25
3rd down conversion %: 36.6 to 52.6
4th down conversion %: 42.9 to 57.9
Turnovers: 2.1 to 1.4

I don't think LSU want's to play them again this bowl season. LSU's rushing defense has looked very soft lately.

Don't give names, they don't know who they are, and it would only make them

Count me as a Tech fan. Sure is fun watching your boys play—glad we're not meeting up in a bowl this year!

Really!!!???....i mean really that is what you think???

Look we may have had some in season stuff happen this year and last but there is NOTHING...i repeat NOTHING...to make you think that we wouldn't put the same butt whuppin' on them this year that we did last year.

We may have some issues but one thing is certain:

When given time to prepare in a bowl game situation, Les Miles is an elite coach and his team will shop up and SMOKE YOU in a heart beat.

Last year was the worst team of his time here with an atrocious defense and we lined up and throttled them.

...this year would be NO DIFFERENT!

You may be right, and I certainly hope that you are right about that. I was just pointing out that GT has much stronger team than last year.
It really depends on which version of LSU decides to show up.

Again...under Miles...when has the best "version" of the tigers NOT shown up!!!!

I don't care how much better GTech is (same thing said about them last year BTW).

I have doubts about how we will play in our final two games...

but based on history i have ZERO doubts we will be more than fine in our bowl game.

Im sure we would put in a fine game plan on defense. It's scoring I would be worried about. We've had all year to fix our offense.

Prediction

LSU 5
GT 3

Thanks for bringing this to the Rant. Anytime another team shows your team special props it always feels good.

That defensive performance saved our season last year. They did play like a national champion defense at least that nite!

Now, if only the offense could play well like they did against GA Tech in the bowl game.

GT's offense had one bad game against Miami this year where they were only able to get 228 total yards.
LINK
Was that great defense on Miami's part, or was GT just having a bad day?
