PP is without a doubt the best shutdown corner in college football, and he's only a sophomore. The controversy over the no-call INT at Bama has given him some national recognition. He could be a legitimate Heisman candidate next year but there are two issues:

1) Will LSU conduct a PR campaign to promote him?

2) Can he play offense or return kicks? (Charles Woodson is the only defensive player to win the Heisman and he was all over the field at Michigan. Does PP have similar skills?)

No. People won't throw his way next year, at all. except for bama throwing to julio.

He'd have to make some type of offensive or score TDs on special teams to get serious Heisman consideration. Considering he does neither and teams generally stay away from him, hes going to have a long, boring season.

He clearly can't win it, or even be seriously considered, if he just plays corner. That's why I wonder whether he can return kicks or play offense. If he can, do we have faith in the coaches that we'd have seen it by now?

The only positions it would be conceivable to play Peterson are at WR and the hybrid WR/RB.

Is Peterson an upgrade over Toliver, Randle or Shep?

WOW! Great idea! Who was the last CB to win the Heisman? My only memory is that Rod Woodson was in the running. Didnt he play for Michigan?

Not sure he's an upgrade from our receivers who return next year, but is there any doubt that his pure athleticism would be an addition to the offense? The guy is a playmaker and the kind of athlete that should be on the field as much as possible.

Eric Berry is one of the most impressive defensive players ive seen at the college football level

But about PP...he wont win the heisman but he'll probably be a top 15 pick if he comes out after his jr year
