I wonder what the locker room vibe is like. Chris Paul has to absolutely hate him. The team needs to change it's mascot to the Albatrosses.

Peja has the Hornets by the nuts. He needs to retire after this year. Unfortunately, he won't. He'd be crazy to pass up $14 mil to play 15 minutes of basketball a night. Our only hope is that someone will trade for his expiring contract next year. Doubtful though.

Between him (14 mil), Mo Pete (9 mil), and Posey (7mil) we have 30 mil (approx) on the bench between those three. A small market team like the Hornets can't survive like that.

not more than T-Mac (22mil) and Michael Redd (17mil) and Elton Brand(15 mil)
you want to tell me the last time they scored a point in a game
would like to add in Cuttino Mobley (10mil), bet you didn't even know he was in the NBA anymore
Zach Randolph is at 16mil

Didnt like this move when we made it. Our brass has been outstanding with draft and free agents imo. This one made/makes no sense.

His years have overtaken his production.

well they will have about 20 million coming off the books after next year with Peja, MoPete and Juju. So they won't be losing anything and gaining 20million
i don't know if we can weather the storm though through these two years. or if CP3 is willing to.

Peja and Posey fricking suck.

Posey especially irks me because I see him half-assing it every damn game. He's a smart veteran player so he knows how to look decent when he has the ball or he's guarding somebody on the ball, but you can bust him when he's off ball and is surprised by a pass - he's totally not trying.

Peja tries but can't shoot and is also physically limited so he doesn't piss me off quite as much.

If the effort isn't there from a handful of players how is that really Peja's fault?

yes overpaid, yes production non exsistent but this team has bigger problems than Peja

i don't think the hornets will be able to sign a top-level FA after that

the hornets need to deal peja's expiring deal next year for an impact 2-guard

If Diogu ever gets healthy we could try to trade David West for a good 2. I'd rather have Skids out there trying than David West trying to hold back tears every time someone bumps into him in the lane.

we don't finish 2nd in the west without Peja.
Peja went 28-51 from 3's in the playoffs that year, 25-27 from the line
he had one of his best statistical years of his career shooting the 3.
he shot 44% from deep, 4th in the league, shot the 4th most in the league behind 3 ball hogs, and made the 2nd most in the league, also led the league in FT%

people are so quick to forget how important and dangerous he was from 3 that year.
but of course, thats before a lot of people were hornets fans.
we actually had a fast break and up tempo offense, CP3 would find Peja on the break for 3 and he was money all year long doing that. the momentum from the 3's he'd hit like that were bigger than dunks.

he gets those stats b/c of the team he plays for, and his attitude would never get him playing for a contender b/c they would never risk it and he's not WORTH 16mil on a gamble like that.

You're quick to forget how he shat the bed in the Spurs series - especially Game 7 - and cost us a trip to the WCF v's the Lakers.

so are you trying to say that we won and lost based on how Peja played each game that year.

and i'll answer that one for you and say most of the time yest, we won and lost based on Peja's play most of the time.
I can remember looking at the box score after a game and seeing how he did and most of the time you can tell if we won or lost just by looking at how he performed.
we had 3 all-stars that year but we lived and died on Peja's 3 point shooting

he's played for 4 teams and has put up the same numbers.
