Blockbuster Online vs. Netflix

Can I ask a question about Netflix? Why would you get Netflix when Blockbuster Online is just as good plus you can trade the movies you get online for free ones in the store. You end up paying nothing with the free in-store rentals.

NetFlix is a better company that treats its customers very well. Blockbuster, not so much. Plus, Blockbuster is pretty much going out of business.

In-store? You mean I'd have to leave my house? Hell on that.

Even finding a Blockbuster store is difficult these days... and Blockbuster limits how many times you can do that before you have to pay more. With Netflix you don't even have to go the store, you can watch online, 24/7 for what you pay per month.
Not to mention how terrible Blockbuster's customer service is in comparison to Netflix.

Yes. You have it. However, you have to have an Xbox Live subscription too. (Don't know how much that costs)

Netflix gave me 10% off one time because I kept saying the quality of the instant movies was shitty

Yes BBV cust serv sucks. Yes BBV is going out of business. All im saying is i pay 20 bucks a month to get 3 movies at a time online. I get 5 free in store rentals a month. those five rentals cost twenty dollars without the online program. With it there free plus I get the online movies. Get it while the gettin's hot.

can't speak for netflix, but I had BB on line and finally cancelled after having it a year or so. It used to be great, but it got to be that I'd have to wait 1-2 weeks for a movie. I guess they reduced their inventories, because it seemed like every move that came out was on back order. Got tired of waiting.
To netflix subscribers, are they better in this regard?

For Netflix.....Say I want to get Star Trek on Tuesday the first days its available, is it easy to do that and how does that work.....You put in it your cache early or something?

Quite often they send me an extra 4th movie free of charge. This has happened on several occasions.

Put it in your queue early AND move it to the top of the queue. The longer it sits in the top of your queue, the more priority you gain for that particular movie.
NetFlix does, however, throttle certain high volume users. So if you use this tactic all the time you may not get priority anymore.
There are tons of websites that discuss this kind of stuff that you can google. There's also a nice third-party blog that is focused on NetFlix called HackingNetFlix.com.

The trick is to have your previous disc at Netflix on Monday. That's when they ship the Tuesday releases. Of course, I dunno how well this works on your typical high-demand release, since I almost never have them queued at release.

@ people still paying to watch movies. They have this lil invention called the Internet where everything's free. Chances are you've heard of it. Only time I pay to rent is for Blu rays.

1. You're not getting free rentals, you're still paying for the service.
2. Isn't the whole point of the service to get movies delivered via mail and NOT have to go to the store ?

I actually care about the quality of what I watch, and choose not to steal shite.
