then we may have a decent shot at going to the Sugar Bowl. That'd be about it.

Auburn has been playing better, so I wouldnt count them out vs BAMA. I bet it'll be a close game.

not sure if the Sugar would want a team thats on a 2 game losing streak.

In this situation, if I was the Sugar Bowl, I'd choose Alabama. Their university, football team, head football coach and fanbase are light years ahead of LSU.

Don't believe me? Ask an Alabama fan

Alabama (or Florida) will end up with only one loss at season's end, and LSU already has 2.

I'm sorry to say, but both Florida and Alabama have already paid off the officials for securing wins in their other games.

Are people really holding out on both Florida and Alabama not being placed in BCS Bowls? I have to be a realist in the current situation.

Auburn has zero chance against Bama. Auburn is the new Vanderbilt of the West thanks to Saban's complete domination of Alabama recruits.

How about this? Bama loses to MSU, Auburn, Florida, and the bowl game?

I would love it!

This isn't far-fetched at all... IF Bama loses once before the SECCG AND does not play Florida tightly.

If we finish strongly and Bama finishes weakly, then I could see the Sugar taking 10-2 LSU over 11-2 Alabama.

Things working against are:

1) Head-to-head
2) Perception/reality that having LSU means less money for New Orleans

Things working for us:

1) Alabama's performance as the SECCG loser last season
2) Hot vs. not

If it's 11-2 Florida, then Florida goes without question.

Dude, are you serious? Have LSU fans gotten to the point where an invite to a BCS game is "That'd be about it"? So any year we're not in the BCS Championship Game it's just, "Ho-hum, that's nice, but it's not the Championship game"? You, my friend, are in for a lot of disappointing seasons.

Nah - just speculation. It's the only positive of not having a playoff.

... although even if there were a playoff, we could still speculate about at-large bids.

Who would bring more $$ to Louisiana, Bama or LSU. There's your answer.

Actually, I'm just holding out hope we can go 10-2. Anybody that thinks the Rebs and Pigs are gonna just gives us a W is crazy.

That's always the question with LSU and the Sugar Bowl.

Auburn's problems started when they tried to go behind Tubervilles back and get Petrino. I'm sure it was hard for TT to put his heart and soul into Auburn after that. Bama has been the benefactor. Auburn will be back. As much as we hated them in the past, it helps LSU to have a strong Auburn(and Tennessee as well).

FWIW, I drew out a possible scenario for LSU to get back into the NC yesterday. Though extremely, extremely unlikely, I think there's an actual small percentage of a chance, but hey. No one agrees with it, though.
