No one talking about the game? Ariza came up small, Kobe drops 41, and the Lakers improve to 4-1 with a ton of home games coming up. Lakeshow misses Gasol.

Missed the game becuas eof the WS.

How'd they look?

Looks like Bynum and Kobe had good games.

Not having Pau hurts now, but prob helps in the long run.

I only caught pieces of it on justintv because I'm studying for a test, but they both looked like teams that are missing important players. Lakers looked kind of sluggish after the OKC game, but for the most part, they played pretty well.

It's hard right now. Sometimes I come home from work and forget the NBA has officially started.....til I'm watching sportcenter the following morning and thinking "Mother fricker!"

Any timeframe on Gasol's return? They definitely need their second best player on the floor.

He's been medically cleared. Just has to get his conditioning up. Small chance he plays Friday, but I would guess he would make his debut the game after that.

Bynum got hurt late in the win last night, so he could miss a little time.

They look like they are still working out a few kinks. BUT:

Positives:

1. Kobe is still Kobe
2. Bynum is becoming a monster
3. Artest looks as if he is starting to gel
4. Gasol's injury is not as bad as pnce thought
5. Odom is playing pretty well
6. There have been points in games where it looks like they take it to another level in a hurry. Once they've gotten that going they look unbeatable.

Negatives:

1. Current bench play
2. Fisher's defense

Fish's offense is pretty terrible as well.

He did make the steal to WIN the game!

Of course, Ariza's ball handling leaves alot ot be desired.

Most importantly, for me, is how do the Rockets look? Their record is surprising to me in a good way, but can they keep it up?

Ariza is going to be the man, don't worry.

Per Ric Bucher after the Jazz win: "like a 5 man symphony"

Amazing ball movement
Tons of effort
Running, running, running.
High 3 point percentage
Multiple players in double figures
NO ONE can stay in front of Aaron Brooks.

If all of this happens for the majority of the season, they are still only fighting for a 7-8 seed and a first round exit. They got miles and miles of heart, and are all very intelligent, which ecspecially helps on D. But a bunch of Robins can't win with no Batman.

That being said, no team in the NBA can "take a night off" and expect to beat them. If the opponent is uninspired or a little lazy, they are gonna get run off the court...see Utah.

We'll see. I'm happy w/ just a playoff appearance. i think that would be an incredible acomplishment, ecspecially for Adleman.
