Didn't know JJ's status was in doubt. Anyone have any info about this?

From a news conference yesterday: "Miles said that sophomore quarterback Jordan Jefferson went through Wednesday’s practice session with no problems after being limited on Tuesday. Miles said that Jefferson will be ready to play on Saturday night against the Green Wave."

Yes, I'm aware we are in the SEC and that we "have a want" to get physical now and then...
Since we can't trust Miles when it comes to injury reports, a lot of you guys in the know will post something informative within 4 days time, especially given the 4,275 threads involving Jefferson, Jefferson & J. Lee, etc.

Following JJ's last play Saturday, he was sitting on the field w/out his helmet and didn't look real lucid, but I haven't heard or read much about him being hurt or sick (sometimes those two are related).

After that hit he took, I thought he had broken his jaw... It was a pretty viscous hit.

Is this true? we all know he didnt finish the game. If he does not start there will be quite a few people on here that will be very happy.

He was on the sideline with a cap on smiling and high fiving people after the game.

Yeah I was being an arse at this point. I figure something was wrong, or coaches realize there was no point in keeping him so that nothing could happen.

Yes, I know. I was there. That's why it was surprising to hear that his status was maybe in doubt.
He was grabbing his jaw and his cheek on the field & sidelines after that hit.

Yes, other conferences play two hand touch.

He is ill, not injured.

I think Jefferson will definately play... but, if he didn't, would we see Lee take the helm for the entire game, or Russel Shep take a lot of snaps and start throwing... might be a good time to give him some oppurtunities throwing against a playground team like Tulane.

jefferson had a respitory problem

their was some concern it was H1N1, but he was back at practice yesterday

nothing to do with last weekend

LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson practiced fully Wednesday, and the drills he has missed this week due to illness should not be a factor against Tulane, according to Coach Les Miles.

"I know there are some questions about Jordan Jefferson. He practiced the whole practice, and there are not going to be any issues with his preparation, " Miles said.

Jefferson had a "respiratory" matter this week, and his illness was not football related, Miles said.

Jefferson, playing in the fourth quarter against Auburn on Saturday when the game had long since been decided, took a tremendous shot on a blitz. He did not appear injured, and spoke with reporters after the 31-10 victory for No. 9 LSU (6-1).

But he did not make his usual appearance with the media Monday afternoon and did not appear Tuesday, the last time players speak before a game. School officials said Monday that Jefferson "was not feeling well."

"It's not a contusion, an abrasion or a result of contact, " Miles said, holding back a laugh when he met with reporters Wednesday evening. Miles is notoriously cautious with injury information, and he takes pride in being evasive on the matter.

No he wasn't. He had a cut on the cheek, prob from the helmet being knocked off his head, that the trainers were looking at. He's not injured.

You just contradicted yourself in your own post. Nice job.

Glad he was taken out after that hit. No need to risk your starting QB taking another one like that. Our backup was "capable" of finishing the game.

That being said, JJ has to play against the Greenies. Since we don't have much of a running game to rely on, JJ needs to continue to work on his timing with the receivers. We can't afford for him to sit this one out.

Concussion syndrome. Miles is hiding it because he doesn't want the circus that surrounded TEbow to follow him into the Bama game week.
