If you don't see the difference between buying a bottle from a store and placing a mixed drink in a cup, with a straw, in a vehicle, I'm sorry for you.
Not many people have Martini's self restraint.
I am well aware that my viewpoint is not very popular, particularly in a board like this, but once you get away from the rationalizing what you want, against what is better for all of us, maybe a little maturity will sneak in unnoticed.

whats the difference between a drive through daiquiri place and a walk in one like french quarter or daiquiri cafe? most people just buy one and walk out with it to their car.

Who still puts the straw in the drink? I dont think anyone can put the straw in the drink if handing it through the window. I know that was a problem before, but a lot of places have gone to putting tape on top of the hole now.
I understand your viewpoint, but I dont see how making someone walk 30 feet will somehow keep them from drinking and driving. If someone is willing to risk their life, as well as others, the method of getting alcohol into the car is irrelevant.
