Amite vs. Independence

One of the top games of the week will take place Thursday night when the Independence Tigers host the Amite Warriors. The 9-3A district title will be on the line as well as bragging rights for Tangipahoa Parish football excellence. Make a trip to Indy and see two of the top teams in 3-A battle.

This game was a big deal in the early to mid 90's...Amite won the state title in '94. Brister, Seiber, and Toefield were great players for Indy. Not sure if this game is worth a damn anymore...

Amite is #9 in 3A and Indy is #4. Don't forget Amite also won the state titles in 99 and 04. Also they had a team to beat Lutcher last year but lost in a close game in the semi's. Last thing 18 seniors signed football scholarships last year at Amite. It will be a very good gamebetween two teams that hate each other.

Bet you are pretty happy Franklinton isn't in that district anymore??? lol. Both Indy and Amite used to beat the shite out of us when I went there. Franklinton murdered both of them this year. I think one was in a Jamboree though.

haha yeah this year for sure! I coached Terrance Mcgee on a travel baseball team he is a beast! He and Amite's QB were on that team and are both very good athletes.

I played summer ball with antron and labrandon.. Its ashame antron chose to sign with the red sox.. I would haved to see him play college football. I played football for Albany. It was no fun playing them every year..Brister was fast as lightning.
