The two statements in conjunction are crap. Just because Crompton had a good day against them doesn't mean that Jefferson will.

This. Not to mention that Crompton's peformance was by far the best by any QB all year long against Alabama whose defense was worn down anyway. Keep in mind, Snead and Mallet have the two lowest single game completion percentages of any FBS QB this season, both against Alabama.

Of course not. I never said that it did. I know all about causation. That's why I made the two sentences seperately.

What am I saying is that a quarterback with Jefferson's level of ability can beat Bama; in fact, he almost did.

but it does make a little bit of an argument against those that say since Jefferson had a bad game against florida that he can't have a good game against bama.
