Before the season all we heard was how good joe haden of UF is(which is justified) and how great Thompson the Cal DB is while Patrick Peterson goes about his business shutting down half the field while also supplying great run support.

Are we watching the best corner line up every saturday wearing #7 in the purple and gold?

And, as heard as it is for a DB, do you think he is good enough to be mentioned in the Heisman talk when the team overall is playing better before he leaves LSU?

I think you've got a solid argument. He's just as good as anyone nationally imo.

This guy is not affraid to take on anyone, including Tebow One on One in open field, this guy is just a beast and I think it won't be long before we start to hear his name nationally, like after the Bama game.

I doubt he will ever be in the Heisman talk unless he gets some type of offensive production (or maybe special teams) ala Desmond Howard.

If he isn't the best CB in college football right now, I am not sure who would be above him. Haden is playing with a better and more experienced front 7. Cal defense has been just horrible.

I don't doubt that he'd be great player at other positions, but I doubt it'll ever happen.

Then again, we hear mentions of Eric Berry for Heisman this year so maybe it's not too far a reach to say it's possible.

Who deservers the Heisman anyway, is it the best player on the best team, or the best football player in the country?

I think it goes to the best player who plays best in big games against top notch competition.

Meh hes up there; however, he still makes the stupid mistake every now and then (having no idea and failing at the deep third in the Georgia game with less than 2 minutes to go comes to mind). With more experience, yes.

So what keeps him from turning pro after this year? Does the NFL have a rule about drafting players before their Junior year?

Charles Woodson. Won the hesiman as a primarily defensive player.

He prolly is the best corner.. The problem is he plays a lot of Zone.. Hard to see his true Man To Man skills like corners in the past in pelini and saban years
