Actually those of us with the real intellect choose to look a little deeper than "the numbers". The numbers do mean something, but they don't tell the whole story. What I see when I look past the numbers is the following:

An inordinate amount of procedure, formation and delay of game penalties. A tendancy to play down to the competition. Poor clock management decisions relative to down, distance and time on the clock. NO attention to detail. NO attention to process, but rather only attention to the end results. A team on a downward trend. A team that has played exactly one complete football game out of their last 18. A team that has lacked any competent QB play over the same 18 game stretch.

In a nutshell, I see a team that does not play to the top level of their ability. To my mind, that is a true sign of a great coach ... one who gets the most out of his players, week in and week out. In my view for 3.5 million, we deserve a coach who gets the most out of his team, not the least out of it.

Sure Miles' record is damnstrong. The numbers to this point are nothing short of outstanding; however, with the amount of talent at his disposal, what record should he be expected to have accumulated? These numbers aren't all that special when one considers that we have usually been overwhelming more talented than our opposition.

Of course, that's just my opinion. I could be wrong.
