It is Unfair to Keep Reminding Us of Lee's Picks

Our offense is lackluster you can say. Not much production from having a squad of "great athletes." I have read talk of the possibility of Jarrett Lee coming back this year, but each time I am reminded of the pick 6's that cost us.
Although I must say that is a downer, let's also remember that we were also undefeated last year heading into the Florida game (4-0 last year) with Lee at the helm. Once the Florida game was done last year and we got to the heart of the SEC schedule, yes, Lee started to throw those INTs with much regularity.
I am not trying to suggest that the same thing can happen this year with Jefferson, but I truly think that Jefferson will now start to feel pressure to try to change his game, and may try to force throws that he has been eating in these first 6 games (especially because everyone is trying to make him make quicker decisions).
Once again, I hope that Jefferson does not make the same mistakes as Lee did last year, but the ingredients are there to make it a possibility for Jefferson to repeat the same actions as Lee did last year.

For me im not against JL but its the same thing all over again from last year. Everyone is yelling for Jefferson because Lee was playing bad last year. In my opinion i don't think the result would be much different with Lee of Jefferson in there because the o line is having a lot of trouble.

The pick-6's should be regarded as a fluke. He couldn't have done that had he been trying.
If one will distill out the non-dysfunctional games JL played in: a) before Hatch got hurt and he could be spelled for a series or so and b) where he wasn't expected to run in a track meet (UF and UGA) JL did ok for a RS Fr.
Anyone want to imagine JJ (the '09 version) against UF in the Swamp last year?

once they figured out hatch had no arm it pretty much forced JL to be the starting qb last year. When hatch was playing every team had 9 guys in the box every play

Sure. We'd have lost something along the lines of 24-3.

Absolutely. Not just the pick-6's, every pass that Jarrett Lee threw last year that did NOT result in an LSU touchdown was a fluke.
The dude is a fricking legend. Fate cast him a cruel, cruel hand last season.

You really think Malleveto would have held UF to 24 pts last year? That's not even sober.

When you run as much clock as LSU did and don't turn the ball over then yes. It's easy to hold even great teams to 24 points.
See: UF v's Tenn this year.

Other than OU did anyone hold UF to 24 pts or less in '08?
PS: we didn't run the ball worth a flip against UF in '08.

Lee threw interceptions in the LSU scrimages.
Lee does not like to get hit. Our offense line is not blocking. I think Lee will throw even more picks than last year if he gets into the game. Common Sense tells you that he will. It is not a quarterback problem but an offense line problem. I think they should roll Jefferson out and let the defenses become concerned with a run or pass situation.

Absolutely.
More shotgun, more designed rollouts, more run/pass options for JJ, and more of the legendary LSU WR screens that we've abandoned since UW for some inexplicable reason.

Didn't you hear, sonnyboy. The picks WERE his fault and the offense couldn't tackle. THAT fact seems to be lost on the idiots of this board.

so its safe to assume lee has not improved at all since then, right?

according to all the Lee haters the very thought of the chance that Lee might be improved is pure insanity. But that fact is no one fricking knows. I've been a JJ supporter, but seeing how the offense has struggled I would love to see if JL could provide some kind of spark. I'm curious to see if he has improved.

For Lee though everyone assumes that hes over if the go to receiver isn't open still try to get it into him mentality. Both JJ and JL have shown that going through their progressions for receivers is a big problem.

yeah but the thing is JL showed that LAST YEAR. young qb's do have the ability to mature and progress in their careers. everyone just automatically assumes that since he was so horrible last year he's gonna be horrible this year. and thats ridiculous. hell he might be, but no one knows.

I'm certainly ready for Miles and Crowton to give him a shot. I'm a JJ supporter, but right now he's not getting it done.
