why do we always preform some sort of "Latin Flare"

Every fricking year it a Latin Flare or a tribute to Chicago. March 20 steps this way turn around march 20 steps in the opposite direction.

Those guys are top notch. Find something worth complaining about like everyone else...

Offense, anyone?

Hey, lay off our band!!! That is the best thing we got going for us right now, and it does not matter what their selections are, they are GREAT!! You people are through criticizing the team, now you will start on the band??? Go out and get a life.

Your ignorance is shown in your question. The music from this last week's show was extremely difficult. The trumpet feature was top notch.

I suggest you watch the band practice on Saturday at the IFF to see how difficult it is to walk backwards and play an instrument at the same time, 325 people all at one time. Have you ever tried to run down a hill, playing a sousaphone with an audience of over 100,000 people?

Lay off the band, buddy. This mama tiger is very proud of the TGBFTL.

Oh geez, this bullshite again.

So many people are so simple minded that the only way the band will entertain them is if they play popular movie themes or form a cool shape on the field.

I guess some people in life must have the motto "I bitch, therefore I am"

Im a positiger with the team but a negatiger with the band....the point of a halftime show is to entertain fans...keep the latin stuff for the band competitions I understand that its tough but 92000 of the 93000 ppl who were there could care less...play something fun...I literally watched a guy fall to sleep watching the halftime show...

Blame it on Jindal. He just doesn't have the interest that Huey had in the band.

It's Van Halen for Auburn.

What's wrong with a Chicago tribute? The Chicago medley last season was sweet.

It is Latin Heritage month, according to the NFL. That was a pretty difficult drill in the opener. I'm guessing you are not in band, nor were you ever in band, so shut the frick up

Here's the answer and its probably not the one you want to hear.

Believe it or not, playing songs that people love are very boring sometimes. It takes a lot of different parts functioning as one to make the final product, and many times, the individual parts would bore anyone to tears. Once a year, the Tiger Band does a latin show because it gives every single instrument a chance to play a really fun and challenging piece. It is a show by the band, for the band. Not to mention that even though no one really cares, bands try to show each other up at every game. There is a reason the band plays those power chords before every single game. It is a warm up, but do you think that is really necessary? Its not like we haven't been playing all day.

The band gives its 120% every single game, and once a year, we get the opportunity to play stuff we have a lot of fun playing. Come to a practice and listen to the complexity of whats going on and you might have more appreciation for what it is.

Don't worry, next week its back to Van Halen
