Regardless of how they played each time - they kept the ball out of the end zone - AND THAT IS ALL THAT MATTERS From a defensive standpoint.

The offense is getting ripped right now, and rightfully so, but it's hard to put up alot of points when your defense is on the field all game. Our offense seldom plays with a short field because our defense seldom gets any 3 and outs. The consensus was that our offense played their best half of football in the 1st half vs. UGA. It's no coincedence that the defense actually gave the offense the ball with good field position that half instead of the usual own 20 yd line or worse. Also, common sense tells you that the more offensive possessions a team has, the more chances to score. LSU had only 3 possessions (if you don't count the 50 second desperation drive) in the first half, and we received the ball first. That is about as few possessions as you will ever see for a college football half.

I agree that the offense had reached real low levels but it is difficult to accept arguments against the D's capacity based on their performance against a #1 Florida.

All I am saying is that against the other teams - the D did manage more than a few 3 and outs and gave good field position.

I am stating that if we maintain Status Quo on the D till Bama and going by history and probability if we increase our Offense by even a smidgeon we are back in the game.

HENCE I am not having the same apprehension towards facing Bama as I would have before the UGA and UF games were played
