Solid assessment. And I too believe that if Saban was at the helm...we would be a better team. Not that Saban is a *better* man than Les...just a better coach. (and I don't know why ).

I'm still hopeful...with the D getting better every game, that Crowton will get the drift, and have a heart to heart with Les. They have got to open up the field with Shepard (NOT AT QB...he aint ready)...with an option to get to the outsied and pass. Damn shame. We could have won that game.

LSU could not have won that game without either a better OL or winning the turnover battle with a multiple turnover margin. LSU got dominated along the LOS when on offense and didn't penetrate the LOS enough on defense. LSU was clearly outplayed and Shepard would have made 0 difference at his stage of development.

As far as little Nicky being such a great coach, again it is Exactly how great was little Nicky in the Sugar Bowl when a double digit underdog Utah team wiped the Superdome floor with the dwarf. And how good was little Nicky his first season when ULM beat him when he had far superior talent than ULM. And of course I could bring up UAB at LSU, Oregon State lucky win at LSU, the Blue Grass Miracle "win", the Iowa debacle, the Arkansas debacle where Heisman Matt Jones threw 2 TD passes in the last 8 minutes to beat LSU.

little Nicky a better coach than Les Miles...I don't think so.
