Crowton was the goat tonight

A lot of you who already hate Les will use this as more fuel for your rantarded fire, but the fact is that Gary Crowton let us down tonight. Our offense is who it is--we have terrible line play and and a very inexperienced, unsure quarterback. Tonight was nothing new. Same thing we've seen all year. It was up to our "genius" OC to design plays, develop a gameplan, and then call those plays to hide our weaknesses and take advantage of our strengths. Gary simply failed at this tonight. As he has mostly this entire year. And you can't convince me that Les is our secret, behind-the-scenes OC. bullshite. We pay Crowton too much money to just sit up in the stands and listen to his fricking Ipod. He is responsible for both the gameplanning and playcalling, both of which tonight sucked cock.
That said, I thought our defense was outstanding. Especially considering how much they were on the field, but more importantly, how deflating our offensive performance must have been to them. And usually penalties are a poor discipline/coaching issue, but I thought most of our defensive penalties were "aggressive" penalties that mainly resulted from just being so fired the frick up. Considering Florida only scored 13 points, I thought they were very excusable.
I was off the board all game and thought I'd come back to a little more positivity. But I should have known better. Our fans are the worst, most self-loathing, poorly perceptive, unappreciative, entitled pieces of shite in college football. I, for one, am proud of how hard our team played, and think the season still sets up very well for a 10-2/11-1 regular season. Which is better than most of us expected anyway. Let the haters hate. I still love this goddamn team. Geaux tigers. And the rest of you can geaux frick yourselves.

Can you give Stud some heat too?
Posted on 10/11/09 at 1:15 am to Hot Carl
totally agree. We had way too much talent just sitting on the sideline tonight..Pretty dissapoiintng night, with the excetion of our defense that held the #1 team in the country to 13 points.

I'm not sure if he just sucks or if it's all he's got to work with. The state of the offensive line is certainly something Miles should take responsibility for--there's just not a whole lot of talent there. At least from the starters.

well put carl. Gotta agree with ya.
upset , but not crushed. we gotta make some changes or this is experience for some guys. And it wont do all of them good. I hope the coaches got more out of this than the players. they are the ones not making an effort to change

We need to figure out what we want to do offensively, and fricking do it. It appears we want to run the ball out of the I formation. Fine, great, wonderful, but let's fricking do it and get good at it.
All these multiple formations and packages are fine if you have a bread and butter to fall back on, but we don't
Also, Russe Shepard not being on the field is inexplicable. If the coaches are comfortable with him and certain packages, then fricking shame on them. Dudes been here since January, are you telling me he can't run a single play against good competition

Hot Carl,
do you have a vendetta against Crowton? You've blasted him every week. I'm starting to think you don't even watch games.
I'm not going to even bother arguing with you, because like your other inane threads it's SOS, different week.

I could not agree more. Call the play and fricking run the goddamn thing. But that starts with the gameplan being installed at the 1st of the week, then with the actual playcalling during the game. Am I the only one who thinks that all this letting Jefferson check down every single play is Crowton passing the buck? You're making 500K, Gary, you're the offensive coordinator, you're the fricking Wizard, call the goddamn play.

I absolutely agree with you for our 1st 5 games, but tonight there was really no time to put him in. We desperately needed JJ to get in a rhythm if we had any chance of winning the game. If Shep got touches tonight, it should have been on pitches/screens/handoffs. But not at the expense of JJ standing on the sideline.

Well said!!
You never feel good about a loss, but I was pumped at the defensive performance tonight.
Offense was a different story, however.

I'm not saying Shep should have gotten 15 touches and a focal point of the offense. But shite, let's at least make UF think about it.
I mean our offense wasn't doing much, so why eliminate another option by our own doing? And you said rhythm, man we haven't had rhythym on offense all year.

I agree with you. The only time Jefferson felt comfortable was when he was allowed to rollout and call for quick passes without turning to the sidelines. It's almost as if we use every possible way to magnify our weaknesses.

There is alot to be positive about Chavis and the defense.
The offense on the other hand sucked like a super-charged vacuum cleaner...
Now if you put a gun to my head and asked me whether i would like a good defense or offense, Id have to say defense...
So im kinda positive about the rest of the season. Miles and Crowton cant be complete idiots right? ....right? They have to change something right? ..right? ....ahem..right?

How do you know Les Miles is not influencing/limiting Crowton?
Posted on 10/11/09 at 1:43 am to mardigrarita
Y'all don't think CUM wasn't ready/relieved when Shep saw/didn't see the field tonight? It's too bad Les didn't give him a whole series to try to make something happen.

How do you know he's not influencing/aiding Chavis? Why does Miles constantly get all the blame for everything negative, but absolutely none of the praise for anything positive?
And why in the world would he hire someone, pay him a lot of money, and then handcuff him at his own expense? It makes no sense.

I hate "check with me". Offense seems to have no flow and confused with it.
Posted on 10/11/09 at 6:51 am to 5 for LSU
Nice post, Disagree that Shep could not get one series. I know there is alot of back and forth debate over Miles/Crowton on offense play calls, whoever it is, not very good

Dang, some of you...
It's FACT Miles has called plays in the past! FACT!
Look it up. Follow LSU football. Miles DOES call/influence play selection.
RS not playing is only on Miles and a stupid decision. Given the fact Miles only said RS would be playing more as the season goes.
So yes, Miles is handcuffing Crowton. It's pretty obvious.

Totally agree. Offensive coaching sucks, the defense is playing well, and our guys played very hard last night.

This is a point that made me lose some sleep last night. We didn't even decoy with him. Any thoughts on why not?
