You feel that way about Carroll's kids? And Stoops? And Tressels? And Saban's? and Myers?

yes.

I'm just saying that if you're going to say that Miles is "excellent" at player development, then you should be able to point to at least a handful of players who were overlooked, who were marginal as freshmen, but then were "developed" into draft-worthy players by the time they graduated. I can't think of any. And so far, nobody else can either.

Brandon LaFell
Tyson Jackson
Ciron Black

To say that he's "excellent" is probably overstating. I exaggerated my point to Jersey, who considered Miles a failure in all aspects of coaching besides recruiting. But I do think it's apparently that he is above average at the very least.

And to be fair, LSU generally does not accept very many "marginal" players.

who were marginal as freshmen,
Are you serious? Most freshman are "marginal." Very few are impact players as freshmen. Case in point, that #1 or #2 recruiting class LSU signed in February has how many freshmen playing this season? 5 or 6 out of twenty-something signed? That's all I can think of. Wait two years and see if the others are developed to a much higher level of player.

You're off base on this one, Colonel. LSU (Miles) has done a very good job of developing its recruits.
