I guess I was assuming that we would have to play fairly well to have a close game against the undefeated defending national champion, which is supposedly one of the most talented teams in the nation. I can't imagine that we would keep the game close if we played terribly. Unless they did too for some unforseeable reason.

Like playing poorly say, because their backup QB was making his first ever start?

But the point of my original post is that LSU is supposed to win these games at home, LSU isn't supposed to lose, by a little or by a lot, and then be proud of the effort. Two years ago LSU was the national champion, what changed so quickly?
