I have seen it in multiple posts. What does it mean? I want to play along too.

It means it's already been said/posted in an earlier thread. As to it's EXACT reference, IDK.

Reference to Animal House. When people used to post stuff that had already been posted in the early days of the board, people tried to be cute by responding, "Japs bomb Pearl Harbor." Someone then cleverly decided to reference Animal House by saying "was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?" So, it simply became Germans bomb Pearl Harbor, then even more simply, Germans. There have been a few posts where someone has called out the Rant for not knowing that it was the Japanese that bombed Pearl Harbor because of this issue. I don't think those people ever made 2nd posts

I think one of those threads went 6 or 7 pages.

It's a scolding to someone who dared start a thread without first running a search to ensure no one would be subjected to the horrors of a redundant thread. No one on a message board wants to waste time, you know.

Maybe we could use Czechoslovakians for when a question has been thoroughly answered, yet someone else answers it again.

That's asking a little much for the rantards to be able to spell that one, maybe reduce it to Czechs.

Improperly used Reference to this: Germans bomb pearl harbor

I was one who called out the Rant because the reference was wrong then and now and will continue to be so.

When Bluto menntioned the Germans in reference to Pearl Harbo he was WRONG, not repetitous.

If you want to use GERMANS for an obvious error, then do so. That would be dead on.

But to use it for something that was previously noted makes no sense.

The problem is that someone long long ago made an incorrect statement and everyone jumped on it and started copying it without thinking it through and have perpetuated the error.

If you want to refer to something previously stated use

Yogi Bera "It''s deja vu all over again"

or

Groundhog Day

At least those would make sense.

Uhhh, I just read the story of how "Japs bomb Pearl Harbor" evolved into "Germans" for a repetitious post for the first time, and I already know that you're not very smart.
