I'll admit to not knowing too much about Chavis except for his legendary mustache, but this is a great read even if you usually hate the human interest stories newspapers put out.

Great story - shows the commitment to relationships and the actions to back up those commitments. I know Chavis will impart that to our young men on defense as much as he can and that's what makes college football a better gig, I think, than the pros. Most of these kids will never make it to the pros and the right college coach can make a profound difference in these young men's lives.

wonderful family story, like two brothers. too bad they never got to stay in one place together as coaches for any lenght of time (yet)...
