Six of us from Nova Scotia, Canada are coming to LSU for the Florida game. None of us have ever been. We will be staying in Baton Rouge Friday and Saturday night. Help us plan our perfect game day.

I think I remember you posting about this a few months ago, aren't you going to go watch a High School game too?

Yes. We will be catching a high school game the night before to save our strength for a large day at Tiger Stadium.

And whatever time comes up in your mind as "early," get there 4 hours earlier. If you are not on campus and in full party mode by 9 am, you suck.

Make sure to go visit Mike's habitat.

Watch the band march down the hill, which will be at 5 for the Florida game.

Make sure to walk around campus and let people know you are from Canada and you will get free food/beverages.

Make sure to get into the stadium 30 min, before gametime, to make sure you don't miss pregame.

Yell your arse for the Tigers.

You are probably my cousin. We are tailgating on S. Stadium Drive across from the Dairy Center. Come get some cajun food and "beverages".

I spent quite a bit of time in Halifax in 2004 and 2005 on business; beautiful city, friendly people, and GREAT lobster!

I was a little disappointed on one account, though. My mother's ancesters are from Nova Scotia, and I expected to find French speaking people everywhere. No one in the city I talked to spoke French. I even met with a guy whose last name was Leblanc, and he didn't speak French either. In retrospect, though, I suppose it's sort of like modern day Louisiana in a way. In the larger cities, you won't find French speaking people. But if you go down to some of the smaller towns in LaFourche, St. Martin, and other parishes, I'm sure you can find the French heritage alive and well.

At any rate, spend your pregame time on campus around all the tailgaters. Tell them you're from Nova Scotia, and they'll keep you entertained with food, beer, and tales of their Canadian French heritage (if you find the right groups). Enjoy this great experience; I'll be there myself as well.
