Swett's soul cafe..think Lyman White/Silver Moon meets Piccadilly.
Or just about any place that does "Meat and Three"

Let's face it, Nashville great city, including Brentwood and Franklin and Cool Springs,etc..but they aren't great cooks up there. If you don't go to the high-end places downtown or high-end chains, I'd stick to their strengths..country or soul foods..deep fried!

Jack's Barbeque on Broadway. Great Memphis-style meat.

I thought Rotier's was damn good - nice old timey vibe to it as well.

Ended up getting some BBQ from Jacks. It was really good. Got the pulled pork, brisket, and turkey. That whole Broadway Street area is really cool. Live bands/singers in every bar.

Sorry, but if you went to Nashville and didn't eat at Loveless Cafe, then it was a wasted trip IMO.

Agree on Loveless Cafe! Got biscuits? 30-40 min drive into the country, but worth it. There is also a nice place to eat on the main drag downtown. Can't recall the name of it, but it was the original post office - beautiful marble building, sits on a corner street. Very good food.

I visit Nashville quite often, and the best advice I can give is to eat cheap because the food is very mediocre. Spend your money on the music, and treat yourself to good food in NOLA before and after! Johnny Rockets in the Opry Mills Mall has a great burger, there are White Castle's and Mrs. Winners fried chicken everywhere - all pretty good fast food. Not worth spending a lot on food there - see more live music instead. They do that right!
