I was listening to a local sports radio station yesterday and the guy was talking about the cajuns, tigers and saints. Well, he talked about the cajuns then the saints and when he got to LSU he said "and tiger fans are mad because they are 3 and 0".said that tigers fans need to get real. 3 and 0. Ranked 7 in the country. He said Oh thats horrible. I kind of agree. I steady have to defend my tigers to other "tiger fans" .I just don't understand why our fans are so upset with the team.

Tiger fans are dissatisfied with the caliber of play, not the record. All LSU fans are currently engaged in the same thought experiment. They are extrapolating our play to future games and trying to determine how we will fare against better opponents. That is the source of the angst.

How ridiculous to do that though...just live in the moment. If something bad happens, then be negative about it. Why anticipate it? Nobody knows how we might fare later...nobody has any clue what might happen. How many people actually thought Washington would beat USC? We could lose to Moo St. this weekend...or we could run the table. Who knows? So why naturally assume the worst. Let it play out, THEN bitch, if appropriate.

we should be 3-0. Just because we are 3-0 doesnt mean we have played to our potential. Why cant some of you get that.

they have the potential to win all their games, more realistically, 9 of 12, so far, they have lived up to that potential.....

Weren't we also ranked #2 or #3 last season at some point? Explain the relevance of that ranking with how the season ended.

I don't complain much but do recognize that our current play isn't going to cut it when we get to the beef of our schedule.

But should we be concerned with where WE are going? Also yes.

I think that the WE is the reason why Tiger fans are so pessimistic. We believe that we are part of the team and the atmosphere and take this game a little too seriously. I often have to tell myself that these are 18-22 year old college students playing a game to entertain us.

Sure these kids are supposed to be the cream of the crop and so are the coaches, but it just ain't going to be perfect.

With that being said...I like where this team is right now. I feel that the team is improving each week and the level of competition improves a notch each week until the UF game.

Cause some feel our Tigers and not living up to their personal expectations even though they are 3-0 and 7th ranked. For some it's not just that you are 3-0, but how you looked in becoming 3-0. You have some of us who honestly feel we are bout to get de-cleated by the likes of Ga, Fla, Bama cause we haven't looked good in becoming 3-0 and who knows, they might well be right.

But then, some of those same Tiger fans thought USC would de-cleat Wash as well. Truth is, none of us really know what out future holds much the same as Old Miss or UCS guys didn't know what was waiting for them. Next week we might be here crying in our beer too or the week after that or the week after that. I just prefer to enjoy the nice sky rather than spend my time anticipating its falling, but each to our own.

Personally, with a 19 year old QB with 2 SEC games under his belt and a new, to LSU, DC I have NO idea how this season goes for us. I don't think the SEC history of young QB play bodes well for us, but I can wait to see how it plays out before jumping off any bandwagons or cliffs.

Because deep down inside, they fear that we are what Ole Miss has proven to be.

Yes but being a tiger fan I'm tired of hearing so called tiger fans telling me we will get crushed by bama and florida. If they really think that why watch the games? I think we have a great team. With a chance to beat anybody. These tigers fans must have been depressed as all hell before the 2 national titles. I mean I know we cant win a national title or SEC champ. every year. It just doesnt happen. Get real. Enjoy having a great program and stop the bitching. Do yall remember the hallman day?

sure, but there are flaws in some of the mental processes that are used in the extrapolating....

-very little info. on our future opponents

-not really sure how good our present opponents were

-not factoring in that our team will improve

-being hypercritical of each and every play that doesn't go perfectly

-many were under the influence of alcohol (some severely) while gathering the info to make this extrapolation

-seemingly a substantial number have never played football and therefore subject to being outrageouly inncorrect about their opinions after gathering said info

-info gathering took place while watching TV, which doesn't give the full picture as the cameras merely follow the ball

in short, panic set in with many tiger fans. i think this panic was premature and, in many cases, based on info and thought processes that were flawed.
