So now we are doubting Miles on his recruiting as well?

I thought the only thing that rantards had faith in was Miles' ability to recruit (barring a few missteps here and there - according to them).

Now the sky is falling down on the recruiting front as well!!

We don't have enough / not the right DTs
We don't have enough / not the right WRs
We don't have enough / not the right RBs
We don't have enough Parking and never the Good Spots!

Please don't use a straw man argument and say that anyone is claiming perfection or that nothing cannot be improved or that anyone assumed LES doesn't make mistakes.

It is nigh impossible to be able to get the best players at every position every year. We will have attrition because of some reason or the other.

If you can point out (with respect to other teams) where we have fallen in OVERALL RECRUITING then it would be helpful for those of us who have not been able to spend as much time on it.

Miles now has a problem with not recruiting good DTs. Right now RBs and WRs are only needs that can be addressed with this recruiting class.

The Miles and LSU bashing from its own kind is at an all-time high. I don't get it. Seems like most of our fans cant wait for this team to fail so they can say I told you so...

we are trying to find excuses on why the team seems to lack caoching. So by saying that it might have somethign to do with his recruiting of the OL we are actually making excuses for his coaching ability......full circle

Yeah it's shittie having a coach that finished in the top 5 4 out of the first 5 years, has the team at number 7 right now, is 4-0 in bowl games, 2-0 in BCS games, has a national championship, AND the ONLY coach for LSU to beat Alabama, Florida, and Auburn in the same season. That sucks.

Bottom line is some fans will never be happy no matter what.

ETA:Also no other coach in LSU history beat Auburn, Alabama, Florida in the same season and Les did it twice in '05 and '07.

Some folks cant handle change. The last guy was pretty plain when speaking to the media and the average fan could id with it. Les believes in being secret...the element of surprise. He is full of empty rhetoric when speaking to the media I believe on purpose. He is a great college head coach IMO.
The other issue is I think we all as fans thought this team was better than what it really was/has been based on summer reports and our most recent recruiting class.....it still has potential to be.

Man you couldn't have said it better. It's unreal how much success the man has had so far at LSU and how many negative opinions you still hear of him. It's rediculous, if you don't have anything good to say about what he's done at LSU then shut the hell up. I can understand being critical here and there, providing information on what "you would have done", but people literally bashing him and wanting him gone are fricking idiots. He had pretty large shoes to fill and he's out grown them. If you can't enjoy the direction that he has our program headed in then you need to get a clue. From top to bottom he's done an oustanding job in my opinion and I'm definitely a supporter. He's got to be an extremely solid individual to put up with some of the jackasses in our fan base.

Ego Ferguson wouldn't qualify? If Brockers stays at DT, that means that LSU signed 4 good DTs last year, which to me would mean it isn't a gigantic need.

LSU's problem could possibly come the next two years on the field, and no HS guy is going to change that. If Hicks is a bust, then we will have a lot of questions. If Hicks can play, then we should be fine.

The problem came in 2006-2008, when the DT recruiting was pathetic. Thankfully, the defensive staff responsible for that is now gone.

His offensive line and defensive line are both horribly young. That's recruiting. It's not bashing Les.

With 25 scholarships to give out every year.. there are bound to be holes every now and then. That's the name of the game.

Yeah it's shittie but we knew those Saban players wouldn't last forever.
Now he has to do it with his. Maybe it will work out fine.

I am sorry but I quite don't understand the point that you are trying to make.

1. Are you saying that none of the players recruited solely by miles in the past 4-5 years are any good?

2. That saban identified the exact right kind of recruits who would have success no matter who the coach would be?

3. That everyone who has ranked our recruiting at the top (not just done by les or his team) in the past 4 years have all been mistaken?

If these people are unhappy they should just become Bama fans after all the real reason they are unhappy is that Saban left, no coach will ever be as good in their eyes.

Look at their backups. Nearly ALL freshmen I think you'll agree with me when I say that depth is very important Horribly young from top to bottom.. most importantly on the offensive line. The depth on the DL is not great, but is it not as bad as I thought.

On the offensive front..

Sr - 2
Jr - 1
So - 4
Fr - 12

On the defensive front..

Sr - 3
Jr - 3
So - 1
Fr - 8

Cal don't let the negatigers(rantards)bring you down. These message boards let insignificant people feel significant.

well that must mean Miles and his staff was better at coaching than Saban and his staff. hmmm, don't let people hear you with that logic.

This problem with this board is the Saban lovers are like a bunch of stupid high school b_tches. The one who left you will never have an equal. You feel betrayed but would take his s_rry arse back in a second.

I don't hate or love the coach. He was awesome for LSU and LSU was awesome for him. He is gone to a rivalry school so I hope we beat there but every year only because I want LSU to win, not because I want Saban to loose. It just works out that way.

Miles is doing a really good job here, the grass is not always greener. The problem is most people watch every LSU game and never watch every game of every other team every year. If you did, I promise you would see the same or worse issues at other places. So stop the and enjoy our team. They are and will get better through out the year.
