not a negatiger, just a realitiger, but...
first of all, JJ will be fine as the season progresses. His issues appear to be mental. It seems like he's played lights out in the fourth of every game (maybe because we have a lead and there is no pressure to win?) The vast majority of his inaccurate passes haven't simply been him missing. On pretty much every pass he missed he was either under pressure and didn't set his feet, or he did have time but made the decision to throw either too late or too soon.
Defense looks good enough to hold any SEC team to the high twenties.
Our O-line is simply terrible. Barksdale looks as advertised I guess, but both hitt and black seem to have regressed from last season. Dworaczyk and hebert are routinely beaten back off the LOS, and both actually whiffed on multiple occasions in run blocking. It's really a shame, looks like everything else was kind of falling into place, but due to either attrition or bad coaching, we simply don't have the oline to beat good teams this year.

That means we can hold Florida to the high 20's...

Based on what you saw against ULL? I guess this is what you typically learn when you rewatch our games at 2 in the morning.

How can you be a Texas fan and say we when talking about LSU

agree with the first two, but holding bama to under twenty? a team averaging 500+, in they're house, with a thin d-line? a tad lofty imo

Having seen all of our SEC teams play against each other do you care to elaborate which ones we lose?
I am of course assuming that we win the Non-SEC ones.
Miss State...
at UGA...
Florida...
Auburn...
Tulane...W
LA Tech...W
at Alabama...
at Ole Miss...
Arkansas...
We have 9 games left and I expect 2 in the bag - however ugly with the LA teams.
I feel confident about winning MSU.
So can you say what you have seen in the other 6 SEC teams that you feel is a sure shot 3-3 proposition?
Do you not feel that we can take on Auburn, Arkansas, Georgia and Ole Miss(especially the way they played tonight) - the way they have played so far?
Alabama has played well so far but they have chinks in the armor and so does UF - certainly not the immovable object and unstoppable force juggernauts that you are making them out to be.
WE HAVE seen LSU play - DVR'ed and watched them again and analyzed and re-analyzed and discussed them but how much time have you spent in analyzing the state of the other SEC teams?
I am not saying that if they are bad then we are good - We could be bad as well but even that state could be better than the state that the other teams are in.
Quantitatively put we are shooting for 95/100 and are currently at 75 but the others are at 70 - so I think we are ahead (even while striving to be better)

We CAN beat everyone, but we'll have to see how many we WILL beat.

LSU losing more than 3 games is doubtful considering we do have problems but there aren't any teams we can't beat. I say we don't lose more than 2 or 3 games, tops.

there is a difference between saying something vague with probabilities like that and coming out and stating - We lost three games minimum
I was merely pointing out that often times we miss the Trees for the Forest and vice versa. We are too close to our team and hence the positives and negatives are magnified.

oline to beat good teams this year.
im sorry but from watching the other sec teams, which ones do you consider good that we play? UGA, Bama, UF and Ark? I say we take two out of those four.
Ark, Ok St. and USC took it to UGA. And im not as worried about Bama as i would be about a let down to Aub.

this statement sums it all up. and when you think about it, that's about as good as it gets in the SEC. of course, if everyone just accepted this as the truism it is, half the psycologists in B.R. would go belly up.

I said this at the beginning of the season and I still hold to it. Actually, you could maybe throw in the DL as well.

The GAMES are still to be played and since we do not know what the performance will be - ours or theirs, no one knows......
However, WE MUST improve in the OL and DL in order to do so, or it will be ugly.
Furthermore, if we can not put pressure on the QBs, we will be hurting from their passing game as well.
Let's hope we improve dramatically and quickly.
The talent should be there.
